Aini Garden
4.8/5190 Reviews
When I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

Meng Barak International Resort
This has been such a wonderful stay! The hotel staff were so polite and friendly in every interaction. Dana, one of the receptionists, added me on WeChat at check-in and messaged to ask if there was anything we needed each day of our stay! (My Chinese speaking skills are not great.) The room was very clean and our balcony overlooked the pool. The breakfast buffet offered many options. The hot springs were very relaxing and there were many outdoor pools of varying temperatures, so it did not feel crowded at all. There's a wonderful 'park' about a five minute walk up the hill with a hiking trail that leads to the top of a hill/small mountain and offers a beautiful view. Very peaceful and relaxing. There are a number of hammocks and swings on the way to the viewpoint. There are also other places to walk, nice viewpoints, what looked to be an obstacle course, a pink sand area, and more at the 'park.' We chose to eat our dinners at nearby restaurants - there is one affordable lakefront restaurant about a fifteen minute walk down the hill that we liked a lot. The hotel has several golf carts that depart/arrive from the lobby entrance if you want them to take you to the hot springs or the restaurants area. You can call the hotel and they'll come pick you up as well. Although this hotel is not close to the main Xishuangbanna tourist attractions, it is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for fantastic service, beautiful facilities, and a relaxing trip. I would absolutely stay here again!
Shangri-la Rongqia·Glamping Namcuo Hot Spring Tent Camp

It was originally a parent-child trip during the National Day, but the child caught a cold, so we had to cancel it after much hesitation. However, we couldn't let go of Shangri-La, so we changed it to a staggered couple trip. But it was also because of this that we encountered a wonderful experience. [Park environment] I don't want to say more. I am used to staying in homestays of various prices, but no matter how luxurious the room is, there is an upper limit. The real limit is the world. The environment of this park is a bit like a curtain on the sky. It is a completely beautiful park. The mist brought by the residual heat of the hot spring in the early morning, coupled with the autumn colors of the back mountain, is like a fairyland. After soaking in the hot spring at night, I saw the biggest moon in my life. I really don't know why it is so big. Is it a comparison or are we really closer to the sky? [Facilities] This is my second time staying in a tent hotel. The first time was in Kenya. It was not that kind of short tent, but a semi-fixed tent room with two large beds, a bathroom and a shower. Although it is in a scenic area, it is comfortable. But I am not used to taking pictures of the room, so please read the hotel introduction. Of course, we must mention the hot springs. The open-air hot springs are similar to Japanese style. They are real underground hot springs with high sulfur content. Since they are open, you will not feel stuffy. I highly recommend them. [Food] This is definitely a highlight. We had two breakfasts, which were packed with breakfast. They were simple but tasted good. We had two dinners, and the taste was very good. Other local restaurants in Yunnan have heavier tastes, which we are not used to. The bosses here are from Hunan and Shanghai. We recommend stir-frying and hot pot. There is milk for bedtime in the evening. [Secret Adventure] It is a real adventure! Ask the boss for details. We customized it for us, including driver + photographer + off-road vehicle. We definitely went to places you can't go to by yourself, such as dense forests, pastures, and Shuoxi River. These are all exclusive routes that the boss led people to explore. There is no risk, but it is very exciting. The specific location is said to involve commercial secrets, so I won't disclose it. In short, it is highly recommended. Especially for those who want to escape from the city like us, and want to get close to nature, but are not willing to discount the enjoyment.

Colorful Yunnan Paradise
Wanted a special place for some relaxing time together. Do not want to try the usual hotel in the city. After going through the photos, decided to give it a try. And voila….. absolutely no regrets choosing this hotel. The service provided was top notch, the staff are friendly, courteous and prompt. Housekeeping staff always clean up the villa to a level which I had no way to complain. Always willing to go the extra miles in providing personal services to the guests. The Villa I booked had a private hot spring and a huge garden which had the best view in my opinion. Every evening, we are able to watch the sunset in our private garden. It was really out of this world, couples must definitely try it. Everyday the hotel will provide a fruit basket and top up the bar counter with drinks and snacks at no costs. The ever-friendly staff (Miss Lee) even told me to let her know if there are any fruits I would like, she would arrange to fill it up in the fruit basket. She even check with me a few times if there are anything she could do to improve the stay with the hotel. Kudos to the management team for instilling this high service standard. Miss Lee even contacted me after I check out to ask for my feedback. Keep up the wonderful work. I will definitely be back. For this trip is filled with so much wonderful memories. Thanks to the team.
Golden Hotel

The location is right next to the passenger station. There is a big supermarket across the road downstairs. Breakfast can be full. The interior of the room is OK. There is enough hot water for dry and wet separation. There is a tatami area where you can sit by the window and drink tea to see the scenery. The front desk service on the first floor was good. The downside was that the staff at the hot spring upstairs had a black face, and someone owed her money to provoke him. The pool was covered with a thick layer of sticky and slippery things, and I don't know how long it has not been cleaned.
Manxin Dali Old Town Hotel

Dali Ancient City
I booked this place randomly and was pleasantly surprised. As we were staying on the top floor, the ceiling had a panel that could open up remotely with a button on the wall. The curtain was also remote controlled, and the toilet featured an electrical bidet. Other than a swimming pool, the hotel had an onsen which I didn't use as it was hot the few days I stayed there. There were also laundry machines and dryers that could be used freely without any charges, including free detergents. The hotel was well decorated with beautiful flowers and you could also catch the sunset towards the direction of Cangshan. The staff were all very polite, and the front desk staff were helpful with various questions that we had. The hotel is one street away from Dali Old Town. There are restaurants nearby whether inside or outside the old town, as well as convenience stores. The area is also within walking distance from the Sanyue street.

This hot spring hotel seems to be a pearl hidden in a fairyland on earth. Its unique environment, services and facilities make me feel extremely relaxed and comfortable. Here, I found the tranquility and comfort away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It happened that the jackfruit on the tree was ripe when we came, and the boss waited for us to open it. It was really sweet! The boss invited us to taste the old Pu'er tea he planted. In general, this is a hot spring hotel that makes people linger. I was deeply impressed by its elegant environment, first-class service and comfortable facilities. Here, I found the feeling of living in harmony with nature. I strongly recommend it to everyone who wants to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city and pursue spiritual tranquility. Rating: Five-star hot spring hotel, highly recommended!
Vienna Hotel (Miller Lake Spring)
4.8/52166 Reviews
A highly recommended hotel, just across the road from the lake. We were upgraded to a lake view room for free when we checked in. Although the room area is not as large as the interior view room, it is definitely worth the money. We checked in in the afternoon. When we entered the room, we could see the whole lake through the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel also prepared yogurt and fruit in advance. After checking in, we first experienced the hotel's swimming pool and hot springs. The swimming pool was very clean, and someone would take away fallen leaves in time. The lifeguards would always be by the pool, making people feel very safe. The pool was also very comfortable, and the a**osphere was even better after the lights were turned on at night. After the hot spring, I went back to the room to change clothes. As soon as I opened the door, I saw the sunset, and the scenery against the lake was extremely beautiful! After packing up and going downstairs to eat, the front desk lady recommended a restaurant that made Maitreya specialties. I went to taste it and it was very good! Thanks for the recommendation! Because it is facing the street, I dare not open the window when sleeping at night, but there is a problem, it is hot without air conditioning, and cold with air conditioning... Central air conditioning is known to everyone, and the adjus**ent is not sensitive... So I turned it on and off several times a night😂😂 Overall, if you come to Mile to play, I still recommend this hotel, and it is very cost-effective.

Heshun Ancient Town
The small courtyard is located at the foot of the mountain, surrounded by lush woods and the environment is very good. The housekeeper Xiao He and the aunts are very caring. We booked a room on the first floor and upgraded us to a large room on the second floor for free. Later, the air conditioner entered the bug, and gave us a free upgrade to a better room, really intimate! The breakfast aunt always smiled and greeted us, and the sister at the front desk was also very enthusiastic to show us the way. Stayed in the small courtyard for 3 days, the bedding was very comfortable, always able to sleep until dawn. I am still a little reluctant to leave, I hope I can come back later.
Lakeview Hotel

Dianchi Lake Scenic Area/ Sunac World
Because it is very close to Dianchi Lake, this hotel is the first choice every year when the seagulls come back. After playing tired, I went back to the room to soak in the hot spring, which was very comfortable! And they also gave me free food. The only point of deduction is that the bathroom is too slippery. As long as there is water on the ground, it will be very slippery... This really needs to be improved. After all, bathroom safety is very important~
