Hot Springs Hotels in Yunnan, China

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children stayed at Jiangye for 3 nights and we concluded that it was the best accommodation amongst all that we stayed throughout our 2-week Yunnan vacation. We stayed at the loft room - room was spacious and very comfortable to stay in. Staff was very kind to let us stay in their biggest loft room with king beds. Laundry room (equipped with 4 clean washing machines and a drying room) was right opposite our room, making it very convenient for us to do our daily laundry. Breakfast was buffet style, with sufficient variety. On top of the breakfast that was already part of the room rates, we were very pleasantly surprised to be offered a daily homecooked meal, consisting of 2 mains, 2 veg and 1 soup, with dishes for us to choose from. Location was excellent, right opposite 大观景公园，staff even gave us bread to feed the seagulls. Staff were polite and prompt to requests. All in all an excellent stay and we will definitely be back again.

This is a very nice hotel, great location, good rooms and excellent, helpful staff. But the hotel gets bad marks in two areas. First, the food was generally very good but the Western breakfast buffet choices were nearly always cold. I tried three days in a row to get poached eggs that were not hard boiled. On the third day I got what I wanted but even then the eggs were stone cold. The second issue was the the lack of necessary security staff. The lobby bar was nice and had a young woman playing guitar in the evenings but on our second evening 4 drunks were drinking, shouting and smoking and refused to stop when the hotel staff intervened. After this things escalated and instead of having hotel security throw them out the drunks started harassing us and it got ugly so we left for our room. The hotel called our room to apologize but it was not equipped to deal with this situation and needs to have better control over their public areas. A lesson to be learned. I will be sending a separate letter to Accor management giving full details of this unfortunate event.

The staff here were quite enthusiastic. They proactively helped clean the pool and manage the water, and the water temperature was adjustable. They were also very quick to respond on WeChat and even offered to bring takeout from the front desk to my room. However, there are a few areas that need improvement. First, due to the environment, there were a lot of mosquitoes. The mosquito coils weren't very effective, and I ended up with over ten bites after just two nights. Second, there might be some issues with the facilities. On my first night, the power went out in the middle of the night. This area is quite remote and there are no lights, which was really scary. Also, the smart toilet kept leaking without power, so I had to turn off the water valve. The door hinges made a lot of noise. The automatic night light was too sensitive and would turn on instantly with the slightest movement. Third, the staff might not have been very attentive; they misidentified me three times in a row (gender and last name). Despite these issues, it is indeed a natural sulfur hot spring, and I felt very relaxed after soaking. For that reason, I would still recommend it, but next time I'll choose a season with fewer mosquitoes.

If a business wants customers to give them an exceptional review, they need to provide exceptional service! You get what you give. How can you even ask for a five-star review when you can't even manage a simple upgrade? Is it because all your hotel facilities are outdated? Is it because the floor heating in the bathroom doesn't work and the drain doesn't drain properly? Is it because there are cobwebs in your room? Is it because all the lounge chairs in your courtyard are broken? Think hard about why your hotel, despite having a good location and large rooms, can't command a higher price. It's not about just doing what you're supposed to do to earn a good review; you need to provide service that exceeds customer expectations to get one! Proactive service isn't just talk, it requires action.

Mom, I'm not coming home for dinner! 😭‼️ I'm in Xishuangbanna. Only after coming to Banna did I realize how competitive hotels can be. The Jiangyu Riverview Hot Spring Hotel in Gaozhuang is practically a household name here. The location is incredibly convenient. Gaozhuang is downtown, so staying there means you're close to everything. As soon as we walked in, we were blown away by the hotel's ambiance 🫨! Bright! Comfortable! And there were delicious snacks, fruits, and cold brew tea. The service here is truly top-notch. What really drew me in was definitely the infinity pool 🏖️. My best friend and I took like 800 photos! The water temperature was so comfortable; I really didn't want to get out. It's divided into deep and shallow areas, which was perfect for an expert swimmer like me ☺️. The room was genuinely huge ❗️ We booked a twin-bed loft. There's a big bed upstairs and another big bed downstairs. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer romantic river views, perfect for watching the sunrise and sunset. There's even a stargazing area upstairs. Staying here with good friends is just pure bliss! The breakfast selection is extensive, with Chinese, Western, and Banna local specialties. Plus, the setting is absolutely beautiful, facing the pool. Waking up to that in the morning just puts you in a great mood 🤤.

The service is good. There is a guy at the door who takes the luggage and greets you with a smile. The breakfast is also very rich. I especially like the taste of pig intestine noodles. It feels very close to nature to have breakfast outdoors outside the restaurant. I will come again if I have the chance.

Facilities: They have private hot springs and disposable protective covers, which is great. My friends and I went for a soak at night and felt completely refreshed. The entire courtyard is also very clean and tidy, which was a pleasant surprise. Hygiene: The hygiene is excellent. The room is incredibly spacious and unbeatable at this price point. It's truly outstanding; I'll definitely be back. Environment: It's very close to Lijiang Old Town, so you can walk to wherever you want to go. The location is perfect, and the room isn't small at all. Service: The service is fantastic. They recommended many delicious places to eat and even gave us lots of local specialty fruits and snacks. Plus, there's a super cute and friendly Border Collie named 13 who loves attention!

A hidden gem of a hotel by Dianchi Lake! The rooms are spacious and spotless, the bedding is comfortable, and the breakfast is astonishingly rich – the cured ham pastries are a must-try. The service is attentive and thoughtful, with efficient concierge and warm housekeeping. It's within walking distance to Dianchi Lake, and the garden-style setting is tranquil and delightful. A five-star experience, truly living up to its reputation! A heavenly hotel by Dianchi Lake! The location is absolutely perfect, with stunning lake views right outside the window, and lush garden greenery. The room facilities are complete, clean, and odor-free, and the service is warm and professional. The dining experience is fantastic, making it ideal for both leisure and business travel. My top choice for a stay in Kunming!

Among the five hotels we experienced during our Yunnan trip, we all agreed this was the standout! 1. Having stayed at numerous branded hotels, this was the first time we were met by a concierge right as we pulled into the parking lot. A fantastic touch! 2. There was a great selection of dining options; we opted for the restaurant/bar. Even at 9 PM, the food was absolutely delicious and fresh, with no compromise on quality. 3. It was a family member's birthday during our visit, and the hotel thoughtfully sent up a complimentary birthday cake! The only point for improvement concerns the swimming pool. It was simultaneously open to external training classes, which meant it got quite crowded. As a result, the water quality was noticeably poor, appearing yellowish and cloudy.

The guesthouse's service truly felt like home. In the mornings, I'd encounter a young Bai ethnic girl at the front desk, who would softly ask, ”Did you sleep well? Would you like some coffee?” In the evenings, upon returning, the owner would warmly invite me to sit down for tea. I upgraded my room because of the amazing view. The 270-degree floor-to-ceiling windows were like a giant, ever-changing dynamic frame. Every day, every moment, the scenery shifted: in the morning, watching the 'jade belt clouds' entwine around Cangshan Mountain's waist; in the afternoon, seeing Erhai Lake transform from azure to jadeite green; in the evening, the illuminated fishing lights on Erhai Lake made it feel like I was sleeping among the stars. To take it all in from the comfort of my bed—this luxury is something no skyscraper in any city could ever offer. The guesthouse's infinity pool, seemingly suspended over Erhai Lake, with its white swing by the side, wasn't just a simple decoration; it was the perfect spot to immerse myself in the scenic masterpiece. The garden design ingeniously borrowed from the Cangshan and Erhai scenery. The owner, who designed it herself, didn't over-decorate; instead, she let the plants grow naturally. At every turn, you could catch a glimpse of Cangshan Mountain or a corner of Erhai Lake. In the evening, the warm yellow ground lights came on, blending with the distant fishing lights and stars, making it hard to distinguish between dream and reality. The guesthouse's location is just perfect—nestled quietly in a prime spot with stunning Cangshan and Erhai views, directly facing the tenth peak of the nineteen peaks of Cangshan Mountain. It's truly a prime spot! While the exquisite breakfasts, the unbeatable Cangshan-Erhai views, and the picture-perfect pool swing were certainly wonderful, what truly stayed with me was the warmth woven from the intertwining of this natural beauty and the human kindness found here.
