Hot Springs Hotels in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan

The hotel was beautiful, and my dad and I were very happy with our stay. The room was extremely clean. We tried the hot springs on the hotel's top floor and also at the shopping mall across the street, and the ones at the mall were definitely better. We booked the 'one night, two meals' package, and overall it was excellent value for money. Regarding transportation, I didn't research it thoroughly beforehand, but it turns out you can take a bus directly from Odawara, Hakone-Yumoto, and Gora stations, and it's free if you use the Hakone Free Pass. When we arrived, a Chinese ticket agent told us the Odawara bus was very crowded and suggested we take the H line from Hakone-Yumoto. There's also a bus that goes directly to the hotel from the Hakone Open-Air Museum. The hotel's own shuttle bus has a fixed schedule (see image below), and the pickup spot at Gora Station can be a bit tricky to find.

The location is a bit remote. If you take the tram, you need to walk quite far. It is close to the bus station. There is a small safe at the head of the bed. The bed is a wooden capsule with a wood smell. The public area is good. There is a self-service kitchen with complete tableware and many small appliances. You can make your own coffee, tea and other beverages. There is a public large refrigerator and a small open-air hot spring. The overall cost performance is high

This hotel is conveniently located. It is a traditional Japanese hotel with a lot of facilities. It is very beautiful, particularly the garden which is big and serene. The hot spring having both indoor and outdoor pools is impressive. The dining experience is fantastic because the setting is cosy and the food is extremely delicious. The mattresses, neither too soft, nor too hard, are very comfortable.

My stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. The view of Mount Fuji was absolutely perfect, creating a breathtaking and unforgettable experience. The hospitality service was fantastic—staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. Every detail was well taken care of, making it a truly relaxing and enjoyable visit. Highly recommended!

Fantastic!! As soon as I opened the room door, I was amazed by the view outside. The food was also great; we booked breakfast and dinner (highly recommend booking it, as there are very few restaurants in Hakone, so you can just grab a casual lunch while you're out). The transportation is quite convenient for Hakone, with a direct bus to Odawara that's less than a five-minute walk from the guesthouse. There's another bus stop a few minutes' walk away where you can catch an express bus directly to Yokohama/Tokyo/the airport. There are also two convenience stores nearby. This place is perfect for a relaxing, slow-paced stay, and it's also quite convenient if you want to visit various Hakone attractions. We left at 9 AM and returned around 5 or 6 PM, and we were still able to comfortably take the mountain cable car, pirate ship, and do some light hiking... Our room didn't have a private onsen, but the public hot spring was also not crowded. The service was excellent; someone takes your shoes to the shoe cabinet when you enter and even brings them out for you in the morning – the attention to detail is superb. How do I put this? This guesthouse is barely mentioned on Xiaohongshu, and those who know, know its value. My friend and I both decided we didn't want to post about it on social media; we just want to keep this secret gem to ourselves! 🥹 Hope the price doesn't go up for our next visit!

A nice hostel, very recommended if you are a budget traveller. They also have a private onsen. I like the place. Just bring and put a mosquito repellant when you stay outside of the hostel, it is given because Hakone is located in a mountain area with lots of trees.

A lovely ryokan-style stay in Hakone A very good ryokan-style hotel offering great value for money and an excellent opportunity to experience an onsen in its natural setting. The kaiseki-style dinner was rich and beautifully presented, with plenty to taste and enjoy. Breakfast was equally generous – make sure you’re ready for it, as we were still full from the previous evening! Sleeping on futons was surprisingly comfortable, and the room’s opening window with a small terrace overlooking the garden was fantastic. We had to change rooms during our stay, and the staff were exceptionally helpful, taking every step to ensure we were happy. And we truly were – thank you, arigatou gozaimasu! Enjoy your stay!

It is a very Japanese-style hotel with tatami-style rooms. The rooms are very clean. The hot spring water is very smooth and easy to drain, so you can soak at any time. It includes dinner and breakfast, which are very rich, very Japanese, and very distinctive.

The scenery and style are amazing, and the location is convenient. The mountain bus line H can reach the door. However, you have to climb a flight of stairs from the door to the front desk. You can't see any service staff at all. You can only climb up with your suitcase by yourself. It's very tiring. You have to carry it down by yourself after checking out. It's too hard. In addition, the service attitude and standards of the men who can speak Chinese among the service staff are significantly lower than those of other English or Japanese speaking staff! When I checked in, a girl who could speak English helped me with the check-in, and her attitude was very good! The most complaining thing is the food, which is very unpalatable. After a trip to Japan, it was the most unpalatable one. Whether it was dinner or breakfast, whether it was Japanese or Western, it was unpalatable. It was very unpalatable.

The location is right behind the station, but the navigation app kept telling me to go around in circles. There was no bottled water in the room, they said the tap water was drinkable. The room was a bit small but very clean. The hot spring bath area only had 4 stalls, so I chose to go later to avoid waiting. There are free drying facilities, and laundry costs 200 yen per wash.
