My stay at HOTEL ALA KYOTO was excellent overall. The room was quite spacious for Japan; I could easily open a large suitcase and still move around without feeling cramped. The bed was incredibly comfortable – I slept soundly through the night without waking up once. The biggest bonus was the hotel's onsen facilities. After walking around Kyoto all day, being able to relax in a hot spring at night was incredibly refreshing and truly completed the travel experience! I'll definitely be back.

As is common for Japan, the rooms are quite compact, but this hotel boasts excellent facilities. They provide Pola brand toiletries, and everything felt spotlessly clean. The public bath was also immaculately maintained. The staff were professional and courteous. Its location is a major plus, offering a very convenient walk to Kyoto Station. While the price might be a bit higher, it's absolutely justifiable for the quality and convenience offered.

Although we arrived late at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the onset is open 24 hours, offering clear and warm hot baths. The relaxing atmosphere, with massage chairs to help ease the stress from a long flight, made us feel comforted. Its convenient location within walking distance is a great plus; I highly recommend it.

The hotel's top floor boasts a fantastic large public bath and lounge, offering excellent views for watching the sunset and the city's nightscape. Plenty of dining options are available right downstairs, and the provided toiletries and skincare products are superb. Its location near Sanjo-dori is very convenient, putting you close to many modern historical buildings, including the Museum of Kyoto. Despite some slightly dated facilities, the overall experience is excellent, offering fantastic value for money. A room rate of around 400 is considered exceptional value for Kyoto.

We stayed at Green Rich Hotel Kyoto for two nights, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience. It was truly one of my favourite hotels — and that’s saying a lot, considering I’m a seasoned traveler who has visited 36 countries. Location: The hotel is conveniently situated about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, with multiple bus stops located right at the entrance. Getting around the city couldn’t have been easier. Service: The level of hospitality was excellent. From the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was attentive, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet exceeded expectations, offering a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Even better, it’s included in the room rate, making it exceptional value for money. Room: Although the room was not particularly large, the space was utilized very efficiently. A pleasant surprise was the massage chair in the room, which provided a wonderful way to relax after long and busy days of sightseeing. Overall, Green Rich Hotel Kyoto delivered an outstanding stay in every aspect. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Kyoto. Bravo!

We’ve had the best stay at Ryokan Hirashin! The room was very clean, the size amazingly big, futons very comfortable, there was a big pot that always holds hot temperature. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Onsen was amazing, too. The location is just perfect! It’s 2 stops from Kyoto station and so close to Nishiki market and then also Gion district, plus very convenient if you’re a nighttime lover cuz you can just walk back home. It takes kinda same time to go to other further places like Fushimi Inari or Arashiyama, as it’s located kinda in the middle of them all. I’d say the pictures don’t really give you the vibe, it feels much better when you’re in there. To sum up, it’s a traditional looking ryokan room but in the hotel building, which in convenient cuz you don’t need to be too quiet as in more traditional ones. I highly highly highly recommend this place, we’ve really had the best time here!

I brought my parents to Kyoto and we stayed at this hotel. The triple room was incredibly spacious, much larger than the double rooms I've stayed in before. It was clean and tidy, with excellent hygiene. The private onsen comes highly recommended! My parents also had a fantastic stay. All in all, it's a perfect score! Service: Check-in was at 3 PM, and the front desk service was thoughtful and thorough. They explained the hotel facilities very clearly. (If you don't speak Japanese, there are staff who speak English.) Facilities: It's a very traditional Japanese-style room, which my parents loved. The public bathing area was also very clean, and the private onsen was super comfortable. The hotel signage was clear, and every detail was meticulously thought out – really impressive! Breakfast: The buffet breakfast offered a wide and diverse selection, with both Western and Japanese options, and plenty of delicious desserts! We were absolutely stuffed~

The location is excellent, within walking distance of the station, but the hotel still provides round-trip transportation, showing great attention to the needs of female guests. There's a children's playroom and eight different facial care brands to choose from for various skin types. The room windows offer tranquil and elegant river views. The bathhouse has a sauna and karatsu facilities, which are great. The room also includes a face mask and a wooden bathtub, making the overall experience comfortable and relaxing! My sister lost her wallet and transportation tickets, and the hotel assisted by calling to inquire and driving 40 minutes round trip to help her find them. We are truly grateful!

The room was clean, and the sea view was stunning when I woke up in the morning. The air conditioning was already on when I entered. If you notify the staff the day before check-out, they will arrange a car to take you directly to the cruise ship location, making it convenient for us to take the boat to the train station. Also, the hotel's location is very convenient for getting to Egen.

IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves. When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service. The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point. There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.

MMumutu0417My Kyoto trip was particularly satisfying with this Kyoto townhouse. It had a garden, a private hot spring bath, and was brimming with Japanese charm. The breakfasts were especially delightful, with a wide variety and different dishes each day. After breakfast, there was also a traditional Kyoto matcha and carefully selected sweets; the owner even patiently explained the proper way to drink the matcha. It's a bit far from the subway, but there are several bus stops nearby, making it quite convenient. Strolling along Kyoto's charming streets and discovering hidden gems of little shops was also a delightful experience.

GGuest UserThe service is good. The onsen is pleasant. The baths are the same in both places, changing morning and evening. The washrooms in one are larger. Ohara is a wonderful place, definitely worth a visit. Stunning views, temples steeped in history. And this traditional inn is quite nice. The rooms are air-conditioned. The floors are a bit chilly. The futons are very thin. Dinner is interesting and delicious. You have to simmer vegetables and meat in miso soup. There are also traditional simple dishes. Breakfast is not very hearty. It might be difficult for a man to get full. Everything is delicious for a Japanese food lover like me.

GGuest UserWe took a taxi to this location because it was a little too far by bus, and we had all of our luggage with us. The location is beautiful. If you're only staying for one night like we did, then you should check in at the earliest (3:00 pm) so you can explore the local area. There are some really nice shrines nearby. We were only able to do this after breakfast the next morning. We also had to be out by 10:00 am, which surprised us because it was listed as 11:00 am on Trip.com. You will be served traditional Japanese cuisine for dinner and breakfast. They do an excellent job of presenting all of the dishes, and the service is also incredible. But if you're not used to eating raw fish, or traditional Japanese cuisine in general, you should definitely bring your own snacks to eat in your room! We stayed in the Garden view room with tatami mats. The staff will actually rearrange the room for you during dinner and set up your beds if you select this room. That was a very nice touch, so make sure you don't leave your room a total mess before dinner! I have added a picture of the beds after they were set up. The garden view was well worth the money we spent for it. Very relaxing and beautiful. And surprisingly enough...the tatami beds were super comfortable and warm!

GGuest UserWhen I booked, I didn't realize that rooms on the 5th floor and below had their windows completely blocked by the building opposite. I only found out upon arrival, and had to pay extra to upgrade to a better room – it was a total rip-off! The upgraded room was great though! It had a very unique Japanese style and even a private onsen. The public lobby was also very nice, and the breakfast was exquisite, with both Japanese and Western options.

GGuest UserThe room was tiny; we couldn't even open two suitcases. The window faced a residential building. Since we were only staying one night, we went out after dinner, and by the time we came back, the hot spring, coffee, and complimentary wine were all gone. We basically didn't get to enjoy anything, just soaked our feet for a bit on the freezing rooftop. The worst part is I left my Chanel bracelet in the room when checking out. When I called a few hours later, they said they hadn't seen it and couldn't help me find it. They didn't even bother to ask the housekeeping staff. Staying at this hotel for one night was a huge loss.
