YYEUNG RoyAlthough AJ Ikei Island Hotel is located in a remote corner, it has its own unique charm. The hotel faces the Pacific coast, and the building overlooks the ocean. There are green grasslands around it and a large children's playground. There are hot springs indoors, so you can soak in the warmth after a day of exercise to relieve your fatigue. The hotel is a great place for vacation and leisure!
Yyiqian17Our stay in Okinawa was incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel's location is superb, right by the shopping district and the beach, making it super convenient for dining, entertainment, and everything else. Although the room wasn't huge, it was cozy and impeccably clean. The separate shower and toilet were a really practical touch. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to help, and even went out of their way to recommend local eateries and sightseeing routes. Overall, it offered great value for money and perfectly suited our vacation needs. I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit!
WWhereDoYouGoCatalinaI really enjoyed my time here. The staff at the front desk is well trained, well behaved, very welcoming and speak good english. Prices are good and the room is spacious. This hotel has a lot to offer.
MMietaiyouWe stayed for two nights at this hotel in northern Okinawa, near the Churaumi Aquarium. Even though it's far from the city and there's no shopping mall, it was a really pleasant vacation.
The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the aquarium, so you can sleep in and head over there. There's also a Lawson convenience store nearby for any essentials. Just cross the road from the hotel and you're on a beautiful beach with fine white sand, perfect for kids.
The rooms are very spacious, offering plenty of room to move around, and they face the ocean, so you can watch the sunset.
The hotel has a public bath. When we booked, the two rooms had different prices. One included two bath tickets, while the other required a purchase of 1700 JPY per person. Luckily, we had two 1000 JPY vouchers to offset the cost.
The mini-bar in the room is free, with two cans of beer and two cans of fruit wine soda. Each person can also get a free beer or tea at the lobby every day, so you can fully enjoy Okinawan beer. The breakfast at the restaurant is also quite good, with plenty of Okinawan specialties.
My only regret is the hotel restaurant's capacity. When we checked in around 3 PM, we tried to book dinner for that evening, but all three hotel restaurants were already full. The earliest availability was after 8 PM, and they couldn't reach Chinese mobile numbers, so we had to wait for a message in our room. If we hadn't found another restaurant outside the hotel that could seat us, my child would have been hungry for several hours. Being in a hotel already far from the city, I felt quite helpless at that moment.
GGuest UserPros: The swimming pool and small beach are convenient for playing in the water; parking is close and ample; the rooms are spacious and functional; the hotel is clean; the staff speak Chinese; the housekeeping staff are very polite and smiling; the hotel shop has a wide selection of common souvenirs and local specialties.
Cons: The surrounding dining options are not as numerous as in the city; latex pillows are not provided; and the breakfast options and variety are limited.
PPhilTAmazing stay with a great view, quality hotel room, welcoming and attentive staff. I had some special requests which they helped with during my staff. Location is very private and quiet but also come with the downside of being a bit further away from stores or restaurants. Would love to visit again in the future.
AAnonymous UserIt’s surrounded by massage parlours but felt quite safe. Can walk to the busy part of Naha in about 15 minutes. The only reason I’d stay here again is if I wanted to onsen. That was the biggest draw for me. There wasn’t much customer service. Check in with a computer. Same with check out. We had a small Honda N box and they said it’s too tall for their car park. They provided a list of nearby car parks. Again not much service there.
GGuest UserThe staff didn't speak much English, which caused a problem at check-in. I had to call Trip.com Korea to sort it out, and check-in was delayed by over 30 minutes, but I never got a clear explanation for the issue.
Overall, the hotel is clean, and the room size is decent. It was great to have a convenience store nearby. There's a large public bath, but it's more of a regular bathhouse than a hot spring. Guests can use it for free, but note that the lockers are not free.
JJessie’s AlexThis might be the best hotel on Senagajima… hmm… the sunset is beautiful, the sea view is beautiful, and watching planes take off and land is also beautiful… but… the hotel's hot spring had a rotten, watery smell, the restroom on the first floor was dirty, there were ants in the room, and it was clear that many facilities hadn't even been wiped down in a long time. The staff were actually quite patient, and English communication was fine, but then there was an unexpected incident: I am very sure my wife and I are mindful of noise levels in public, yet during dinner, simply because I borrowed a phone, an elderly Japanese man at the next table, without any warning, yelled “shut up” like an animal. And the nearby staff member did nothing… If it weren't for considering international relations and being in a foreign country, I really would have wanted to have a vocabulary contest with that animal-like old man… To be honest, this was my first time encountering such an incident in Japan, but the hotel staff’s inaction completely ruined my impression of the place.
LLEE CHUN YANGThis hotel is not new but is well maintained in my opinion, we had a comfortable 5 nights stay. Located at a quiet corner in Naha city, Naha port with unblock port view. Pleasant experience with the reception though require a little guessing work when the carpark uncle tries to redirect us to the alternate open air hotel carpark, we managed with the given map, a short walk away. Basement parking at the hotel building has very limited lots, often full after sunset. Ice making machine available on our level lobby and notice microwave too at other floor. A short drive from the airport. A bakery, 7-11 and souvenir shop on ground level, complimentary hot spring bath, coin laundry... There is also a supermarket less than 5 minute walk away.
