BrewDog Kennels - Aberdeen

An enjoyable stay in Aberdeen.

We enjoyed our stay in The Kennels but the rooms definitely need some TLC. The aircon is leaking, the toilet seat is broken, it’s very grubby in the hard to reach places and the kitchen cupboards are all about to break. However, the location is fantastic, the bed is comfy, the vegan breakfast delivered to our room was tasty and there’s a plentiful supply of tea and coffee. The welcome drink in the bar at checkin is also a nice touch. Although it would be nice to be able to finish it, rather than getting rushed to be shown the room and leaving half the beer! All in all, an okay stay, but definitely lots of areas to improve on.

Bought this as a gift for my partners Chris**as ... bit of a let down. Good points first - Skylar who checked us in was very friendly and polite. Bedding was clean. Bathroom clean. Toiletries provided. Equipped kitchen (although we did not use it) Room was quiet and black out curtains were good. Plenty of hot water and the shower pressure was great! Good location for restaurant and bars. Record player and Bluetooth speaker were great. Wee breakfast box was a nice touch. Bad points - Room was absolutely stifling, unable to open window or turn air con any lower than 18°. Bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep on. Bathroom sink did not drain properly leaving dirty water for ages then a tide mark of toothpaste/make up/soap. No ceiling light in the Room just lamps. The fully stocked shower fridge was intact not in the shower and had 2 beers in it. Only one robe for 2 occupants??Went to the Brewdog bar downstairs for a drink, Very strong smell of urine, dirty/sticky tables and all the menus on the table were dirty. We were firmly told by a woman at a desk to just leave our key with her instead of checking out with brewdog (its serviced apar**ents in the same building) so we're never asked how our stay was unfortunately. This good be so much better with a little more effort.

If you're looking for a chilled stay away, this is it.....you need to pop into the Brewdog Bar to check-in no problems a staff member accompanied you to the Kennels and gave you all the information you needed......the apar**ent was exactly as I expected, no it is not a hotel it's a "Brewdog" nothing too fancy but very clean and quirky, there was complimentary tea/coffee pods with fresh milk not the usual UHT and then there was the cutest little bag of pick n mix.....I'm old enough to still have original vinyls and so wish I had brought some of my own ones that have been packed away since forever there was a good selection of LP' was delighted to see a Springsteen in there. The bathroom was spotless, brilliant shower throw in the complimentary "Brewdog" from the "Shower Bar" and you're sorted.....the bed was very comfortable although giving it was November could have probably did with a thicker duvet the "Simba" pillows were also very comfortable.......the only thing they should really improve on is the lack of kitchen utensils......maybe another couple of pots certainly a little one as there's not a microwave it wasn't ideal using a large pot for heating a little milk, throw in some more drawer utensils and you're sorted......it really is a wee hidden gem in the heart of the city, NCP car park just round the corner of the apar**ent where you'll also find some nice bars, street food etc.....would most definitely stay at this place again......Brewdog - all your staff are lovely

This was an amazing spot with wonderful amenities, definitely check this out over a traditional hotel room.

The only reason I can't give 5 "stars" on comfort is that there was no climate control, and we were melting in the room. The weather was really warm the weekend we were there, and the AC did not work at all. We couldn't open the window because it's frickin' huge! In the bathroom, there was a heated towel rack that was seriously hot, and we couldn't turn it off. :( They had a washer in the room, but no dryer - we ended up hanging wet clothes on the towel warmer to get them dry, LOL. The shower is slicker'n owl poo - be prepared to put down a towel to save you from sliding. Staff was super friendly and helpful, there's a beer fridge in the bathroom. Place was clean as a whistle, and has a record player with LPs to play! It's a great place if they can get the AC fixed.

Great apar**ent. Would definitely stay again in a different city (They are in Manchester & Edinburgh I think too) Amazing service. Had a drink (which was free) when we arrived at the bar as too early for check in. Also had lunch, a delicious protein salad which I took away in a doggy bag as too full to finish. Due to staff shortages, the room wasn't ready for 2pm but the staff could not have been better, apologising profusely and bringing us another complimentary drink. We didn't feel we could be inpatient after the great way it was handled. Special mention to Ian (Canadian /Scottish) he was lovely, handled the situation very professionally and friendly and overall gave us the best service! The room itself is awesome! Massive and such good value for money. Beers, water, good coffee and snacks left for guests which is a lovely touch. Sustainable tissues/toilet rolls. Comfy bed with Simba pillows. Bathroom products were great, fluffy towels. (only con was shower head needs descaling badly, majority of holes were blocked) 2 TVs, record player, acoustic guitar, beer fridge in bathroom. It was clean and there was plenty of room. Could happily stay for several days. We cancelled plans to go for dinner and got a pizza delivery instead to the bar downstairs and took back to apar**ent to chill. Loved the place, highly recommend Such great value

Checking in and checking out was very muddled we rang the phone number on the door to check in to be sent to the pub next door to get a member of staff to show us to our room whist my other half waited on the pavement Check out was painful the member of team who was covering the front desk was else where when everyone was checking out at 12, had to ring the phone number again asked if we could leave cases to be told take them to the pub next door The rooms were nice enough clean tidy and basics all available but no plug socket anywhere near a mirror All in all good location for restaurants and ******
