"I stayed here for one night last winter and thought it was okay, but this August, they gave me an end room, and as soon as I entered the bathroom, there was a strong smell of stale sweat. Also, the room I had last time had a long table by the window and a bench by the bed, which this time was replaced by a short table and a single chair. The front desk apologized, saying the hotel was full that night, but I could still see rooms of the same price category available for booking on Trip.com. I secretly complained that the front desk staff that night lacked flexibility and was too stubborn to give me a clean room. I had originally planned to stay two nights, but because I really disliked the room I was assigned and the front desk's stubbornness that night, I canceled my second night's reservation before midnight. For the second night, I stayed at Park Inn, which was significantly better than ibis, and even cheaper. You can check the pictures on Trip.com for a comparison and you'll see. Should I thank that ibis front desk staff for this? Actually, other ibis front desk staff are very nice; it was just the one I encountered that night who was so speechless,好像 an non-English speaking male. But I should thank him for making me switch to Park Inn the next day and discovering a hotel I liked."

"I've stayed at this site a lot of times now, and usually room standards are great. However, this time round, the room I was given needed a lot of updating. The table/kettle/cups had dusts and were slightly dirty when I got into the room. I didn't want to make a fuss because it was already late and just needed to rest. The room was facing the station hotel and it was a tad noisy busy but it didn't bother me too much. Overall, it was an alright stay, location was very convenient and staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay."

"Room was clean. 1 Socket down at the skirting board. Not good if u suffer from a bad back. Nowhere to charge ur phone, no USB ports. Cleaning staff lays clean bedding on a dirty carpet outside the room. Continental breakfast doesn't exist. U can have frosties, rice krispies or porridge but don't expect to eat it with cutlery, you can have a cup of tea but don't expect any sugar or even a teaspoon. Scottish tourist board gave it 3 stars I'd give it 1 that's me being generous, would I stay here again,? Never in a month of Sunday's, I don't recommend this hotel "

Multiple fire alarms over a night and no explanation or apology whatsoever. There was some unpleasant bald guy hanging about reception potentially manager, not really someone you would like to talk to. Definitely won’t be coming back."
