Amazing
XXiaoxiaokafeiwuThe location is a bit inconvenient; it's hard to carry luggage up and down stairs. The hotel has a dedicated car park, but it costs £13.50, and you have to walk quite a distance with your luggage from the car park to the main entrance.

GGuest UserThe staff were so lovely. I took my dog who they loved and I got a lovely room, so nice and quiet. The shower was great, the bed was so comfortable. Free coffees in the morning which was bliss! It was so nice downstairs to just sit and chill, really nice vibes and just felt totally relaxed and at home. Probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, absolutely loved staying here. Will definitely be staying again!
CClar65The Chester is close to town and a quality hotel that we suspect would be rated higher if it had the gym and pool and spa that many five star hotels have. But, they are not needed. The room was a good size, with all necessary facilities. The common areas of the restaurant are of high standard and the food was excellent. Our room had a couple of minor issues. The shower door leaked a littlw, but caused no problem. The deadlock on the door dod not engage, but we were not concerned as there was a locked door between our door and the public areas. We will happily use again, particularly as the prices were reasonable and the standards and quality were very good in our experience.
GGuest UserStay here regularly as offshore worker great location for heliport , just no courtesy bus at weekend
bed linen spotless comfy bed shower good good stay
Friendly receptionist
Thanks
OOzzy_WarOverall the experience was good.
Good points: The location is excellent and the free parking is a good option for people driving. The host is excellent and very friendly and went out of the way and accommodated my requests.
Points to improve: Had a couple of minor issues in the beginning which the host resolved promptly, the flat seems abit tired may need refreshing. The main downside for me are the sea gulls, the flat was quite warm and you had to open the window a little for fresh air and when you do that it appears that just next to the flat the seagulls have a party every night and they scream throughout the night so it is abit hard to sleep. Obviously its not in the hosts control but it is an unfortunate issue.
GGuest UserWe recently went on a family trip and stayed for two nights, making two separate bookings. On the last night, the receptionist informed us that our room was not included for children. However, the website clearly stated that children under 12 stay for free. I didn't want to argue in front of the kids, but despite the receptionist's smile, we didn’t feel welcomed at all. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
GGuest UserUnfortunately our room smelt of damp/wet dog so went to reception to inform them and asked for an air freshener, the gentleman at reception went and spoke with someone else and then took me to see 2 other rooms, these rooms both had the same smell so we stuck with the room we were currently in as we had our 4 year old with us. The gentleman from reception came back with some air freshener spray which I was allowed to use and then he took it away again.
We have stayed here a few times before and never noticed the smell. The carpet was filthy/old as well which was probably where the smell was coming from.
The breakfast was okay, 1 pancake machine which took ages to make pancakes which our 4 year old wanted but because it was popular there was always a queue, could be doing with another couple of them?
I don't think we will stay here again, which is unfortunate as it's where we usually stay as it's easy to get to and not right in the middle of the city and has ample parking.
GGuest UserWent for breakfast, the fire alarm was going off in the restaurant, staff did not know how to switch the alarm off, everyone stayed in the room, staff continued to work. After 10/15 minutes I went to Premier Inn reception to complain as the noise was deafening. The manager had to go the the restaurant to ask the breakfast guests to leave and organise how to switch the alarm off. She apologies and refunded our breakfast cost, good for her. But where is the staff weekly training. There could have been a real fire and they were clueless.

Stayed here for one night with my wife and had a great experience. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. A comfortable place to stay, perfect for visiting the castle nearby. Highly recommend this hotel!
