The guesthouse features balconies, a tea room, and there's a washing machine and dryer available in the courtyard. Its location is excellent, being very close to Ziyang Street, Longxing Temple, and the Xinghan Gate of the city wall! If you're planning a trip to Shenxianju, you can take an early morning taxi to Linhai South Station, catch a high-speed train to Xianju South Station, and then take another taxi directly to Shenxianju. It's perfectly doable as a day trip, so there's no need to stay overnight there. If you're ever in Linhai, Taizhou, this is absolutely the place to stay! :)"

The Jiangnan Great Wall and Longxing Ancient Temple are just a stone's throw away, a perfect blend of historic architecture and modern interior design. We were very satisfied with our accommodation during this Linhai trip. As the saying goes, 'when the granaries are full, people understand propriety and moderation,' and Linhai's economic prosperity has fostered the warmth and generosity of its people. The hotel proprietress is hospitable and welcoming, and the staff are enthusiastic and dutiful, providing us with an excellent stay. By the way, the proprietress also recommended Room 203 in the quadrangle courtyard, which is even better—flowers blooming outside the window, with a gentle fragrance. 👍"

"To be objective, this hotel has its pros and cons. Pros: The front desk proactively contacted me before check-in to provide parking directions, which was very thoughtful. The surrounding area is bustling with plenty of dining, shopping, and entertainment options, making it very convenient to get around. They even offer late-night congee, which is a comforting touch when you're tired. Cons: The hotel was renovated in 2022, but the facilities already feel a bit dated, with paint peeling off the doorknobs. The lobby on the first floor feels quite bare, and the public restroom on the same floor is a hygiene concern, lacking even toilet paper – which significantly detracts from the overall experience. I hope they will renovate and maintain the hardware in the future, and also improve the cleaning and supply replenishment in the public restrooms."

"When checking in, I asked if I wanted to add breakfast. If so, I could upgrade to a higher level. Because we were going to other attractions very early every day and didn’t have time for breakfast, we refused, and then charged 49 yuan for the upgrade. There was no response at the time. If this was the case, it would be better to add 15 yuan. Breakfast is upgraded for free, which is really confusing. There is a toilet smell when entering the room. The soundproofing of the room is very poor. You can clearly hear people talking at the door and closing the door next door. I asked the waiter to check out at 14 o'clock, but in fact I will leave at 13:30. The waiter asked me to add a WeChat to give a good review. I was really speechless. Is this how this hotel got its good reviews? It’s so ridiculous and speechless!"

"As an ordinary tourist, I'd give Yuanzhou Hotel a 98 out of 100. Advantages: 1. The hotel butler added us on WeChat a day in advance to arrange room type, free parking, dining, etc. Even though it was a weekday check-in, the butler thoughtfully upgraded all three of our rooms. 2. The VIP reception staff greeted everyone politely. On the day of our arrival, the receptionist went directly to the underground parking garage to help us with our luggage and accompanied us upstairs. The toiletries in the room were from Atelier Cologne, and when we asked for a few more samples, the hotel readily agreed. 3. The VIP building is separate from the regular guest room floor, avoiding noise. The afternoon tea in the executive lounge also solved the problem of awkward meal times after visiting Guoqing Temple and Tiantai Mountain. 4. The breakfast selection was quite extensive, including regular food and seaside specialty snacks, and the dining environment was comfortable. There were actually more dishes available after 8 am than at 7 am. 5. The two-night package we chose cost around 650 RMB per day, including unlimited drinks at the minibar and late-night seafood noodles, which was great value. If you have plenty of energy, the package including city wall tickets and transportation seems even more cost-effective. Driving from the hotel to the nearest city gate is less than a 10-minute drive. Areas for improvement: 1. Both rooms had a slight sewage backflow smell in the bathroom, but it didn't spread to the sleeping areas. 2. The quality of the napkins in the room could be improved. Also, we were in a rush when checking out, and the front desk may have forgotten about the souvenir. Before we even reached the high-speed rail station, the butler contacted us and arranged for it to be delivered. Thank you so much!"

"The location is amazing, very close to the seafood food street Renmin Road, and not far from Ziyang Street, East Lake, and Taizhou City Wall. The front desk staff are very enthusiastic, the breakfast is delicious, with a full range of varieties, and there is also a special snack, ginger soup noodles. It has its own gym, self-service laundry and parking lot, which are also free. I will stay here again next time I have the chance!"

"The guesthouse is very close to Ziyang Street. It doesn't look very big, with a small courtyard that's tastefully furnished. We stayed on the first floor near the courtyard gate. The room door couldn't be locked from the inside and had no safety latch; the guesthouse said this was a requirement of the local police. The windows couldn't be closed completely, which made us feel insecure. The service was okay; they provided a complimentary drink and a refreshing herbal porridge upon check-in, one cup per person, which was a welcome relief in the heat. Unfortunately, that was the only cup available; when we asked for another, they said they were out of stock. Before check-in, the guesthouse contacted us in advance via WeChat to provide directions and travel guidance. The bedding was quite comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. The bathroom sink looked unclean; it was old, yellowed, and reddish."

"Linhai in early April was absolutely beautiful! Over the holiday, I experienced both glorious sunshine and the misty, rainy charm of Jiangnan, taking in a variety of captivating sights. The New Century Mingting Hotel is perfectly situated between Ziyang Street and Donghu Lake, with both just about 500 meters away, so I walked everywhere during my entire stay. There were also diverse dining options; I checked out Rong Xiaoguan and a local old-style restaurant. The hotel was clean and the service was warm. When it started to drizzle on my way to Donghu Lake, the concierge even offered an umbrella! 🌂"
Linhai Yunqi Island Inn (Ziyang Street Taizhou Ancient City Branch)
"Facilities: The room was okay, but the smell was overwhelming and pungent. Even after using an air purifier all afternoon, the smell was still very strong. The front desk said it was the smell of wood, explaining that old houses with wooden beams tend to have this odor. I disagree; the bathroom, which doesn't have wooden beams, also had a strong smell upon entering. It was just renovated this year, so it's probably formaldehyde. My eyes were swollen the next day after sleeping there. Service: They don't offer afternoon tea unless asked. They did ask if I wanted a travel photoshoot. Environment: The courtyard is very small. It looks big in the photos, but there's actually very little space to move around. It's located in the old town, at one end of Ziyang Street. The soundproofing is poor. It gets quite noisy on the street starting around 5 AM; the garbage trucks are very loud. Breakfast: The guesthouse doesn't provide breakfast. They give you a breakfast voucher worth 15 yuan to eat at a restaurant across the street. Also, the dining hours are from 6:30 AM to 9 AM, so plan your time accordingly if you want to eat breakfast!"

"The hotel is split into two buildings, so make sure you use the right elevator to get to your room. The rooftop garden is quite nice, and the breakfast spread is pretty extensive. The staff in the breakfast area are very warm and helpful; the front desk staff could really learn from them – a simple greeting goes a long way. There's a bike rental station nearby, and it's not far from Renmin Road."

"Honestly, this guesthouse has a great location and the butler service was generally good. However, it has serious flaws. Because it's extremely close to the city wall, less than a meter away, the room is poorly ventilated. A damp, musty smell lingers for a long time after entering. The air purifier seems to have been unused for a long time; the nearby electrical outlets are unusable. The toilet seat downstairs is broken; it's crooked and unusable. At night, the dampness inside the blankets was warmed by my body heat. Sleeping in the attic, the stench of the sewer pipes wafted in intermittently. Plus, the street is right outside, so the soundproofing is poor, making footsteps and bike noises very noticeable. All of these combined made it impossible for me to fall asleep until 2 AM. I had to drive the next day, so the experience was absolutely terrible. I really don't understand why a room like this would cost at least 400 RMB. Listing it for 1500+ RMB on Ctrip is outrageous! This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, bar none. Forget about the environment and service; it can't even provide basic comfort!"
