"I stayed at Midtown Richardson Taipei and overall the room cleanliness and hotel service were very good. The room was comfortable, tidy, and well-maintained, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
However, I had a disappointing experience at the breakfast restaurant. One morning, I noticed another guest accidentally dropped a piece of bread on the floor and placed it back into the food tray. I picked up the bread and handed it to one of the staff to alert her. Instead of acknowledging it, she gave me a black face, threw the bread into an empty tray, and continued with her work without any response.
This left a very negative impression, especially since hygiene and customer service are important in a dining area.
Overall, the hotel stay was pleasant, but I hope the breakfast restaurant staff can improve their attitude and professionalism in the future."
"Great location , a really busy hotel which cleaners miaa cleaning certain areas at the room sometimes I guess as I've found long hair from previous tenants inside the washroom and on the carpet. Will be great if they can boost their cleaning quality a little bit. Staff are friendly and helpful which is a plus. Many not bad restaurants within 5 mins walking distance too"
"Pleasant stay in a king room, layout a bit unusual but enjoyed the wall to wall and floor to ceiling windows. Do note swimming pool though open year round is unheated, it's actually very redreshing but not for everyone...."
"This is actually a good hotel with their age. I’ve been here couple time before Covid. Room still clean and good customer service, especially the older from the Bell desk, he takes very good care of the guests from the Bell desk."
"The hotel is great, very clean, the staff are very nice. I stayed at the suite which was a very big room and had a great view.
The lounge was ok but I prefer less unhealthy snacks and more fruits/ healthy stuff in it.
The pool was not heated and it was a bit cold.
Also the last night my room had noises all night long. Like metal to metal noises which cause me not to sleep all night long.
The staff were nice but didn’t really compensate for this horrible night I had no sleep at all besides promising to a late check out or upgrade next time I book. Which is more of a promotion than a real compensation. Too bad that left a bit a bitter taste to a nice stay so far. I’m in Taipei once or twice a year and I wish they were more attentive to my complaint and lack of sleep."
"The environment is elegant, the interior design is grand, the decor is luxurious, and it's very clean. The overall feeling and experience are excellent. It's definitely worth trying for friends visiting Taiwan, and the transportation is very convenient."
"I frequently visit Taipei, but this was my first time staying at the Grand Hotel. Its vibrant red aesthetic is incredibly captivating; every time the MRT passes by, I can't help but take an extra look. My direct experience staying here was excellent. Even though it was a windowless room, it didn't feel stuffy at all, and there were no odors, which shows how diligently the hotel manages its rooms. The breakfast spread was exceptionally rich – I ate for an hour and was completely stuffed! You can also visit the secret tunnels; this time I went to the East Secret Tunnel. It cost 500 TWD, and you can book it at a counter near the hotel's front desk."
"Awesome rustic vibes. Modern and compact. I booked 2x couple rooms and 1 twin bed room. Low priced and within walking distance to anyway of Ximen Ding not exceeding 15mins.
We lived on the 2nd floor where the self service laundry mat is. Love their communal area cum lobby - we bought takeaways and ate there. Just need to clear after eating. Hotel papa whale invitesu singers to perform during weekend afternoons. And it’s surrounded by yummy food - TKK Chicken and the dumpling joint. Highly recommended !
Only complaint is the step to the bathroom and toilet. Make sure your elderly can climb that one step."
"This time, I stayed in a room with a hot spring bathtub, and the hot spring water is certified by the Taipei City Government. The king-size bed was spacious and comfortable. The hotel also has self-service washing machines and water dispensers on the second floor."
"Location was great. Lots of food options before 8pm. Just walk a block or two and you will have lots to pick from. Near metro, trains and airport MRT. Use the underground malls to get to the airport instead of walking above ground. Z8 or z6 exit but no escalator.
We seem to have gotten a non-renovated room. Wallpaper and ceiling peeling. Carpet stained and covered by stained kitchen mat. If we complained, we could have gotten moved to a hardwood floor room and they seemed to be renovated.
Unfortunately the bathroom was a deal breaker. Shower head was near the chin for this 5'7”person. Pressure was good, but the drain couldn't handle it causing the shower to puddle up. Deal breaker was the toilet and not being able to flush toilet paper. No thanks to throwing it in the bin. Unfortunately we booked 4nights quickly and lost the whole amount due to no early checkout or refund policy.
Tldr: good budget hotel, good location, bathroom and room need updating Toilet paper in bin."

PPalapalashanThe private hot spring in the room was fantastic, and the Japanese service was impeccable. There was also a tea ceremony performance, which made it feel like a trip to Japan. Plus, the children's play area downstairs was very clean and not crowded.

JJO.DSOverall a pleasant stay. Staff are polite and pleasant, the dried tomatoes at L5 is good. 😊 only hair dryer, handwash, body wash and 2in1 shampoo/conditioner provided in room so be sure so bring your other toiletries if you need!
Pros 😊
- fuss free check in (room was ready ahead of check in time so recep let us in)
- water dispenser avail (don’t have to buy your water) and 2 bottles in room daily
- small area at L5 for you to relax at with some snacks and drinks (great if you’re having a late flight and need somewhere to rest after checking out, or if you arrive early before check in)
- easy walk to xmd
- bus stop outside with buses that gets you to most places
Cons 😞
- poor sound proofing (can hear kids running down the rooms, people chatting outside, opening/closing of doors)
- room not super conducive for light sleepers. E.g there is gap between the pelmet and curtain so once the sun rises, the light will shine into the room, your room will not be in the complete black-out state. Can bring an eye mask to help with this!
- very basic room amenities.
- slightly steep price given how basic and no-frills this hotel is.

GG30ffDidn't expect the check-in counter is at level 5, and our room is at level 2. The entrance to the room got a 门槛 (ménkǎn), which make us need to lift up our luggage bags to enter the room. Located near the Taipei Main Station, but it still a fair bit of walking needed, unless you didn't carry any large/alot of luggages or carry a baby with stroller, you may use the MRT entrance at the Caesar Park Hotel, which you need to climb up & down the staircase. But there are alot of eatery around the corner.

LLim Kok HuatA great place to stay. Amid a 15 mins walk from MRT, the hotel was surrounded by various nice eateries, from breakfast rice balls to hong kong style roasted goose rice , etc. The room is spacious with a nice big squarish bath tub plus a nice 55 inch TV . Staff are very friendly and helpful.

AAnonymous UserWe stayed at City Suites Main Station Taipei and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is a bit of a walk from Taipei Main Station MRT (Exit Y21 to Y1), so we recommend taking Beimen MRT instead — it’s much nearer if you walk underground from Exit Y21 to Y28.
Our first room had an aircon leaking issue, but the staff were very responsive. After we contacted them through Trip.com, they quickly arranged a room change with no fuss.
The room itself was clean, modern, and comfortable. There are also 7-Eleven and FamilyMart convenience stores just around the corner, which made things even more convenient.
A solid choice for a short stay in Taipei!

KKerysVery local to the main metro station and popular night markets. Lots of convenience stores around. Room was clean and a decent size (double room). Our room had universals sockets which was also nice. Our room wasn’t cleaned or replenished whilst we were there (3nights), some fresh towels/water would’ve been nice but regardless was still a nice hotel and had laundry facilities at an extra cost (1 washing machine).
We did have a window that opened but the view was just off a worn building as seen in the picture.
Overall a decent stay :)

CcalingThe room has a bathtub and is clean! There is a hair dryer, but you need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste.
Good location, 3-8 minutes walk by bus or MRT
Breakfast is simple but tastes OK❤️
The only drawback is probably that the pillow becomes flat after sleeping.
There is a small street selling food on Shuangcheng Street behind me. I stayed here for 2 nights.
We all went to eat different delicacies from different stalls, including pig's knuckle rice, fried rice, dry noodles, mixed soup, sweet soup, chicken cakes, and pot noodles. They were all great. No pitfalls.
