Brae House B&B run by Patti and Jim was the best B&B I've stayed in. The level of comfort was exceptional. Spotlessly clean, stylish, beautiful furnishings in the twin room, we had sole use of the guest sitting room on the first night since we were the only guests. There was an array of books and DVDs to relax with after long walks exploring Aberfeldy, The Birks and Cluny House Gardens. The bedding seemed new, the beds so comfortable, the room temperature lovely and cosy. Not only did we have a jar of mouthwatering shortbread and real coffee for the cafetiere it was topped up next day! There was an iron and ironing board in the bedroom cupboard, a hairdryer in the drawer and sea kelp body wash and moisturiser as extra touches that made it so superior. Breakfast was a feast of fresh fruit, greek yoghurt, juices and a choice of cooked scottish or scrambled eggs with salmon. Homemade bread, everything fresh and organic and served on the loveliest crockery. Just beautiful. Before arriving, Patti sent a few messages welcoming us, giving directions and offering to obtain some artisan chocolates made locally. Really, she is a fantastic host and worked so hard to make our stay special, which it was. There was parking for the car right outside. The location was a seven minute walk from the centre of Aberfeldy and a charming walk it was too. We had a pub meal in Shehallion on the first night and dinner at Ailean Chraggan the second. I loved the log fire at Ailean Chraggan, the host so friendly he offered to run us back! It was a 15-20 minute walk from Brae House and a torch is essential to see the path from the old Wade Bridge to the hotel. Very dark so you have to see and be seen. Nice to walk off the food and wine and appreciate the sights and monuments. Stunning mini break. I will certainly be back.
