Very disappointing. Not the 5 star hotel and service we were expecting. Small room, dated furniture and bathroom appliances. Reception staff glum and in no rush to help with bags or holding open door, some looked put upon and not exactly happy to be there.

Excellent. Best breky I've had for years. Beautiful location and property. Staff were amazing. Definitely going back. Oh! We appear to have inherited a brand new shiny red breasted robin which popped in whilst we were having a cuppa.

I visited for a business function, with 3 course meal prebooked. The main meal was not great, salmon was dry , petit pois were dry they had been left under the warming lights too long. The merange was disgusting it had not risen correctly and I think the sugar had been burnt during the making of the dessert. Very disappointed.

Stayed for a conference with work. I was in the converted stables. Clean and well equipped room. Good breakfast (coffee not great but a v gd coffee shop round the corner) and short walk into town for evenings. Very friendly and helpful staff. There is very limited car parking and it’s tight quarters. I squeezed my car into a space and abandoned it for the whole stay. But the is a public car park right by the hotel so I’d consider that!

Very nice, if a little "lived in" -- the decor and fittings could do with a refresh. Also the electric sockets in my room were nowhere near the desk, which was both bizarre and inconvenient! The service was very good though. Overall I would stay again:-)

Very nice country style accommodation with exceptional services making one feels like living in the 17th century.
Only small problem is there is no lift.

We came here with the Abingdon Wine Circle at the beginning of January for the Annual Dinner. We were looked after very well. The food was superb and there was a lot of it. I had shrimps for starters, an enormous plate of turkey, ham and homemade stuffing for the main course with more than enough vegetables. The red cabbage was delicious. I had chocolate cake for dessert and am not sure how I managed a mince pie after that. One of the best meals we have had. My husband says the beer was very good too. This is a lovely venue with a beautiful garden that leads down to the river. Great in the summer but not in the winter when flooded! Thank you for a really lovely evening. I am sure we will be back.

I stay here regularly and it is always great. The staff are lovely, fantastic breakfast included in the price which is amazing value for money. Convenient location in the town centre but quiet and scenic by the river.
