The Crown and Thistle

📍 18 Bridge St, Abingdon
★★★★ 8.5 (104 reviews)

"Fabulous staff, couldn't be more helpful. Food is wonderful, service great. Down side is the parking! Sat Nav takes you to the front of the hotel, car park is at the back which is hard to find. The hotel has no instructions on anything, complicated system on getting the lights etc to work. Air con is great but again, no instructions. A simple fix would be to have a folder on how to make things work! No lifts which for someone with mobility problems is a huge issue."

Oxford South (Didcot)

Oxford South (Didcot)

📍 Milton Interchange, A4130, Abingdon
★★★ 7.1 (46 reviews)

"Check in fine. Couldn't find lift to first floor (A nuisance if a lot of luggage) but neither did I ask - so there may have been one. Had to pay for parking. I have an EV - deliberately chose this location as it advertises charging points. I arrived back 10,30pm - connected car - and found that I could only stay for 90 mins at charging point or would face overcharge fee of £10/hour. No exception for overnight. So - I had to wait up until car had charged and then moved it. Car park charges for hotel guests... :( Worst of all was cleanliness of bathroom. The bottom of the foilet bowl was visibly dirty, there was black mould in the sink overflow, and the bathroom plug hole was dirty/smudged with hairs. The bed was however clean and comfortable."

Steventon House Hotel

Steventon House Hotel

📍 Milton Hill, Abingdon
★★★★ 7.6 (54 reviews)

"We stayed at this excellent hotel for 3 nights. It’s a beautiful hotel that offers outstanding service. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The full English breakfast was delicious and sourced from local farms. Above all the staff were particularly helpful and welcoming. Thank you! We will return."

Kingfisher Barn

Kingfisher Barn

📍 Rye Farm, Abingdon
★★★ 8.3 (42 reviews)

"Very distinctive British country hotel, each house is very clean, fully equipped, and the floor heating is opened in May, so although it is on the first floor, it is very dry. Especially at night, it is very quiet, the yard is full of flowers and trees, and the yard is outside the vast pasture. You can see the vast starry sky when you look up. The experience is great! The hotel is basically unattended. Everyone's room number has been informed by email. When we check in, we enter the room and check out to the front desk to turn the key. There is a British girl at breakfast to help us make some simple breakfast and experience the British rural family life. It’s only half an hour’s drive to Oxford, and friends who have a car can experience it here."

Hilton Garden Inn Abingdon Oxford ★★★★
"It is a good one - however unlike its branch in Egypt, they didnt had shower cap, slippers, bathrub and other stuff in rooms. The staff and their service was really good. The buffet as well wasnt full of vareities as in egypt (no doughnut stand). It was an hour away from sight seeings. Beautiful lounge and bar area"

AbingPlough House ★★★
"This place is a bit out of the way, so it's inconvenient without a car. The landlord is Chinese. The rooms are traditional thatched-roof houses 🛖, and apparently, they're protected by law from being altered. The service was quite good; the front desk was generally helpful with any issues. A good experience overall."

Courtyard Oxford South ★★★★
"Around 30 minutes by car away from Oxford city area via motorway. Offered free parking in front of the hotel. Suitable for who is traveling by cars. Add on 10 pounds for the breakfast. Variety is limited yet good enough to start a day with it.  Room itself is wide and clean, just Marriott standards so need need to worry."

Premier Inn Abingdon (A34) ★★★
"Nice, clean and exactly what you’d expect if you’ve ever stayed in a Premier Inn. Not perfect, shower hose split and the evening bar/restaurant service left a lot to be desired (food was excellent though). My biggest gripe was that there was absolutely zero telephone reception inside the building, meaning that you either had to stand outside in the car park in the rain, or you were restricted to the hotel Wi-Fi; the free option of which was so slow as to be utterly unusable."
