The evening meals and breakfast in the restaurant were very good. Even though the breakfast staff were busy and struggled to get meals out in a timely manner, they still removed the self service counter before all breakfasts were served by 10.00 am !! and did not notify guests. This was poor customer service.

Very friendly staff in particular Simon, Andrew & the chef James. Andrew was very attentive during our breakfast making sure we had everything we needed. Bedroom was comfortable but probably needs the decor to be updated. Hotel quite close to Abingdon.

The staff were exceptionally good, friendly, welcoming and professional.
The property is clean and well looked after, however while it is in reasonable condition it needs a large number of window frames replacing due to clear indications of rot which will not be solved with paint.
It is clear that some management processes are preventing the best operation.

Some problems with breakfast. Coffee was cold. Asked for fresh but that was cold as well. Scrambled egg had clearly been cooked some time previously - rubbery!
Apart from that, all OK.

Lovely comfortable hotel, good welcome, fabulous breakfasts, we were visiting family for 4 days post Christmas so didn’t eat there for evening meals. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was for the housekeeping! We had to wash our own cups every day. We only had 2 teabags for the whole stay, but found 2 more downstairs in reception!!!! we don’t drink coffee! There were lots of coffee sachets in the room! And the hand soap wasn’t topped up at all. A chair would have been very much Appreciated in the room.

Stayed at the Dog House and loved it. The a**osphere is very warm, You certainly feel at home. The rooms are a great size. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious. Good portion sizes and was served hot. l will be returning for sure!
