A truly amazing experience, everyone who is involved here is friendly and so accommodating from the moment we walked in. The room is very comfortable and well appointed. The restaurant is top class, the guy running food and beverage is in a class of his own, he has made our stay an experience. Cannot recommend it enough we will make this our place to stay on our visits to Adelaide.

This beachside resort-style hotel is in fabulous Glenelg, Adelaide. Just 20 minutes from the centre and close to the airport, it features sparkling views of the ocean, city and Adelaide Hills, an award-winning restaurant, a gym, function rooms and conference rooms.

The Grand is without a doubt all about the location! Given it’s ocean front position it should offer an absolute premium experience but instead falls a little short as it continues to date without much sign of refurbishment. The rooms are basic, the carpets old, the furnishings aging and everything just feels in need of some love. Bathrooms still have showers over the bath with shower curtains and the air con in the room wasn’t very effective (too hot despite being on the coolest setting). There was also a wedding being hosted during my 1 night stay and despite my room being on the 5th floor (ballroom is on level 1), I could hear the band/music until the end of the reception at 11:30pm. On the positive (besides premium location), the staff at reception / concierge were excellent. They greeted with absolute care on arrival and happiness during check out, despite being early in the morning. It felt like they enjoyed what they did and that’s so good to see in customer facing roles. Worth considering this hotel for a stay, just as long as you’re happy with basic ammenities in a great location.

The hotel is located on a side road which is easily missed. We had to take another turn to locate it. Car parking is at a public location just down the road. The hotel which is fairly new is well equipped and conveniently located within walking distance of Rundle Mall and the train station. The only complaint I have is that the water draining from the shower area may overflow into the toilet area and entrance to the toilet. Apart from this minor issue, the hotel is excellent in most aspects. The staff are responsive and pleasant. As a side note,Club 129 down the alley and opposite the train station, serves a decent meal with promotions throughout the week.

The attention to detail was shown from when were greeted when we got out of the car and taken to reception. The location of the hotel was convenient to get to our business calls as well as walking distance to shops and restaurants. My only disappointment was the club access which l felt was not up to the Pullman standards we have experienced at other Pullman hotels. I would still recommend this hotel when staying in Adelaide.

The property is conveniently located on the North Terrace among the campus of University of South Australia. Hotel parking was limited but it was not a problem of us as we were mostly out early in the morning for sightseeing and only back after dinner. Hence we parked our car along Liverpool St which offered free overnight parking. The Oval, Railway Station and Rundle Mall are all a few minutes walk away. We were given a corner room on the 2nd floor which was HUGE. The room was slightly dated but it was clean and functional.

My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this year by visiting Adelaide. Stamford Plaza was our main base as we travelled throughout the region experiencing all of the arts, culture, history, Architecture, food and wine of the region. Our stay at Stamford Plaza was pleasant and clean with all the amenities needed in a central location. To raise the bar though it was the service we received at Stamford Plaza from Jacqui aka Jax that made it extra special. From her warm welcome, recommended attractions and hot spots to the extra special touches including bottle of wine to help us celebrate. Our memories of our stay in Adelaide were greatly enhanced due to Jax and the Stamford Hotel. Thank you!

We stayed in this hotel for a week during July and overall had a good experience. We found the hotel was very well located for our needs, notably a hire car outlet across the road, the travelers clinic (for PCR testing) 2 minutes down the road and many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The room we were ultimately stayed was on the 20th floor which provided a great view of the foothills of the city. The room was smallish, but was clean, modern and well appointed with all the features one would expect in a hotel of this price range. We had a couple of issues with check-in because we had inadvertently booked a ”king accessible” room which is for persons of limited mobility, which we did not need. We were offered a change if we paid an extra AUD 20 per night which we refused and so then we were given a free ”upgrade” (as it was explained to us) to a room on a lower floor which turned out to have a door adjoining it to the room next door. We could hear everything that was going on in that room and so after 5 minutes we were back at reception asking for a quiet room. Dealing with a different check-in person we were given a nice quiet room on the 20th floor. My main advice from this experience is do not accept a room with an adjoining door, the sound proofing is terrible. Aside from this initial check in issue our stay was hassle free and very enjoyable. We would certainly consider staying here again when next we visit Adelaide.

My parents and I booked for lunch. Two of us had the lamb shoulder and the other had Mulloway. 10/10 for all mains and empty plates sent back to the kitchen. Desserts were ordered - two of us had the expression parfait - a delicious combo of treacle tart and coffee parfait with delicious inclusions such as crisp honeycomb. The third member of the party fancied the ice cream and strawberry sauce enjoyed by the youngster on the neighboring table and the kitchen were happy to oblige. Service friendly and efficient, and the bar person made and excellent gin and tonic to highlight a SA Gin for this Victorian. All in all the best hotel meal I have had in Adelaide for many years and I will come back on other trips.

GGuest UserThe room is very comfortable and beautifully finished. The blinds automatically open and the tv turns on when you first step into the room which is pretty cool. The bed was very comfy and the rain head shower was also wonderful. Service was excellent! We enjoyed a small upgrade and a complimentary bottle of bubbles with a hand written note as it was our anniversary - a lovely touch. Floor to ceiling windows throughout the hotel make for a good view no matter where you are. The view of the oval from the bar/restaurant is quite nice while we enjoyed a drink or 2. We'll be back!

GGuest UserI have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have thoroughly enjoyed all my previous stays but on my most recent stay I found that standards had severely declined in multiple respects. Upon arrival there were no staff at the driveway to assist to unload the luggage as there are usually. Upon entering the hotel lobby, I found all reception desks unattended. After waiting a few minutes, a staff eventually arrived. As an Accor platinum member, I have always been upgraded to a suite at this hotel on all my previous stays. I asked about the availability of a suite upgrade for this stay but was informed by the staff that there were none available. I accepted that because I understand that upgrades are subject to availability. However, when I checked the availability of suites for my stay dates immediately after check-in, I found that there were multiple suites available. So the staff had lied to me. I discussed the matter with Heath Varcoe, the Guest Experience Manager. Heath said that upgrades for Accor platinum members were only to the next room category and also dependent on factors other than availability, without elaborating on what those other factors were. I feel that as an Accor platinum member who has stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions, the hotel should do their best to offer a suite upgrade if possible, as they have on all my previous stays. I asked Heath if I could get the contact details of a staff in the reservations team so I could check with them when planning future stays regarding the likelihood of a suite upgrade being available. Heath said he would check and get back to me before I checked out, but I have never heard from him, despite asking the staff on check out to follow up with Heath. It has now been a few months. I was assigned to a small room which had an awkward ‘open plan’ design with a bathtub placed awkwardly in the middle of the room. The sliding door to the bathroom was difficult to open and close and did not actually afford much privacy as you could still hear everything going on in the bathroom when it was closed. Also, it seems the hotel has replaced the Dyson hairdryers with el-cheapo brand ones which look like they are from a $2 store. They do not fit with the image of Sofitel as a luxury hotel. There was also no portable speaker in the room as there usually is. At the breakfast buffet at Garçon Bleu I found that there were no chicken sausages as there had been on all my previous stays, only pork ones. Because I do not eat pork, I raised this with the staff and was informed that they had run out but they would have them the next day. But the next day when I went back there were still no chicken sausages. So I decided to visit Club Millesime for breakfast instead, and strangely found that they did actually have chicken sausages there. But they were not the full-size ones that were available previously, rather, they were small, cocktail-size ones. I hope they bring the full-size ones back, because

GGuest Userthis building was in a good position in the city, just opposite convention centre. Good service & very comfortable bed, but lounges & bathroom were old & in need of a makeover. basic toiletries were supplied & clean towels daily even though I left them hanging to reuse. the suite had 2 small double bedrooms, with 1 bedroom totally internal with no windows. It would be quite crowded if 4 adults were there.

GGuest UserPerfect location for our drive Perth to Melbourne, easy access from and to the highway. Spacious, clean room with table, couch, TV, aircon and very comfortable bed. Ensuite a little outdated but the room had been freshened up. We had trouble connecting to the wifi. The restaurant was closed on our visit but we ordered room service and enjoyed our meal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Be aware that while there is a 'late check-in' window, a sign on the door said that reception hours had changed to 8am - 8pm (when we booked the site said it was open all night... it might be wise to check ahead if you're likely to be later) Good, clean accommodation. We had a good stay.

GGuest UserStayed one night when husband and I had a day surgery procedure. Chose it as it was the closest accommodation to the Day Hospital. Checked in after ops a bit early and they were able to have room cleaned ready for us. Room very small, Queen bed took up most of it. Ensuite ok except toilet dripped all night. Bed good and clean. Hot water took ages to heat up. Also not sure what was refurbished? Went downstairs to Bistro for dinner. Hubbys meal good, mine average. Got a small discount for staying on meal and accommodation. Bit loud with traffic, but it is on a busy road (and we are from country). Would prefer a bigger room with a bit of a view in future.

AAnonymous UserThis motel is perfect for a short stay when visiting Adelaide via car. Easy to get to being close to the main highways and roads in and out of Adelaide. Rooms had everything you needed for a short stay (except a microwave). Reception charge a $50 deposit for your stay so keep that in mind when checking in, you get it back on checkout but was a little shocked with how high this was considering we’ve been travelling around Australia for the past three months and never had a deposit this high. The rooms weren’t the cleanest and we opted to use our own doona as the one in our room had stains and smelt off, same again with the pillows with my partners one smelling of urine. Wasn’t a bad nights stay for the price, hopefully they fix a few things and I would stay again.

GGuest UserThis is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at, the warning signs were there as soon as you walk in the lobby. It was dirty, disorganised and some of the the other guests who were coming and going looked dodgy. The lift was dirty, the hallways were dirty, carpet sticky underfoot, the rooms were just as dirty, dated and generally rundown. You can’t sleep at night, the noice is terrible from the street below, lots of parting people, wandering crackheads in the early morning hours and then council workers cleaning up the streets. The photos and hotel description on the Qantas hotel booking page are completely misleading. Definitely do not stay here, it’s a dump !! I booked for two nights and left after night one, best decision even though it cost me more.
