I'm leaving this review here as *********** seem reluctant to publish it on their site, I wonder why? First impressions were good, beautiful setting and well-kept grounds, we were shown a room before we booked and it looked great, however, when we arrived a few days later our room was different, cracked and broken tiles in the bathroom, no plug in the basin, and the plug in the bath didn't work. One of the reasons we booked was for the bath which is a rare feature. The Ayurvedic toiletries were lovely though. There were handles missing from the furniture, the sofa was stained, the linen a bit threadbare. There is no mini-bar, just an empty fridge which made so much noise we had to unplug everything at night, including air-con, in order to sleep. In any case, the fridge turns off when you take your room key and exit, so nothing would keep cold in there. There was evidence of botched repairs everywhere. There were only 2 coathangers. When we requested to change rooms, the smiley girl at reception said "I'll try". We quickly learnt that meant it was not going to happen as this was her standard reply to all our requests. Another feature we booked for was the pool. which we were only able to enjoy on a couple of occasions, as it is open to the general public. There were not enough sun-beds for residents already. ***y times it was full of kids, and all the rules published by the pool were broken, naked children (did they go out to pee? I doubt it), kids playing ball games running around, with the ball hitting me a couple of times as I tried to read by the pool, there was even a dirty nappy left by the pool for a couple of days, and a dead rat that the resident dog brought over. I even saw a wo*** smoking and drinking in the water. There was also on one occasion a couple getting very frisky horsing around. Our complaints were met with a shrug of the shoulders, and that the ***ager was out of state. The power cut out on a daily basis, which is dangerous if you are in the shower. We tried the restaurant once, that was enough. Lousy service, mushy rice, no wonder it was constantly empty or just a few people. The complimentary breakfast was a joke, unless you like luke-warm curry left on the buffet, you are stuck with bread, yoghourt and fruit, no food made to order. At the weekend they hold a rave party by the pool, thank goodness we didn't have a room there, returning home we had to navigate security staff and drunk guests, Thankfully local law prevented this going past 10pm. One of the barmen at the pool was frankly rude, the other, I wish I could remember his name was a real star, eager to please and have our opinion, he even created an amazing cocktail for my partner, 5 stars to him. Also the grounds***, who seemed to work 24/7 and tried to fix the leaking basin, in the end they called in a plumber. Without a bit of investment I predict this place will change hands - again - I gather it's already happened once.
