"We arrived without a booking and were shown available rooms by Reyaz, the friendly manager. We opted for a fan room on the first floor at the back of the building overlooking neighbouring yards with the beach visible around 50 metres away. The hotel is actually on Agonda’s Main Street but has access to the beach (shoes required though). Our room was large and clean with a big bathroom. Powerful shower with tepid water. The room got quite warm in the afternoon but we slept with the window open and were cool enough, though there is a communal balcony next to the window so you may get some noise if other guests are using it. The hotel is an interesting building with decorative balconies and painted a faded blue and yellow. It could do with a lick of paint in areas but was clean- we saw the staff cleaning every day. Reyaz was friendly and helpful and arranged a scooter and auto rickshaw for us. He also let us check out late for our night bus. We paid 1500 for the room which I thought was a fair price for a budget room a few steps from the beach when compared to the cost of beachfront rooms."

Agonda Sunset Beach Resort

"It's very convenient that everything is close by: restaurants, the sea, shops, and lots of souvenir shops. We stayed in Arambol and Morjim before, and we realized that Agonda gets chilly at night, with the temperature dropping to 22 degrees Celsius. We were freezing. But sleeping there is more comfortable. Because the houses are right on the beach, they're apparently cooled by the sea. The hotels across the road are monolithic and warmer there. The food in the restaurant is delicious; we could finally eat properly without spicy food, and the steaks were excellent. One waiter speaks Russian. I booked on Trip.com; it was much more expensive than buying at the hotel itself, and the hotel gave us a complimentary breakfast for three people for four nights. Agonda is the best beach we've visited (Arambol, Morjim, Calangute, Palolem). It's quiet, calm, and has a pleasant atmosphere, mostly European."

They cleaned it when we left the key. The hotel location is excellent, just a two-minute walk to the beach. The restaurant is good, with delicious food. We recommend it."

"Spots of blood on inadequate bed sheets. But worst of all they waited until now in the season, November, to chop down trees mere feet away with a loud, whining chainsaw. The idyllic peace and quiet constantly ruined by the noise. This could have been done months ago why wait until tourists in search of peace and quiet are here? They stopped when asked but why should we have to? Wouldn't stay here again because of this. I know it sounds maney but it isn't cheap and I could have stood next to a building site in the UK for much less."
