The room was really tiny. The bathroom is to tiny that it’s impossible to even change inside. The shower can’t even bend down to wash legs.

The room was quaint and the location to town was perfect. However beware there is major construction on site and across the street BLOCKING your "harbor view". We booked this room Jan 2023 and followed up with the property July 2023. We were never notified about the construction. We were going to cancel our second night and expressed our concerns to Michael and was told "good luck finding another property." So disappointed.

Wir wurden ein paar Wochen nach der Buchung auf ein anderes Gebäude umgebucht, da das ursprüngliche Hotel Akureyri angeblich geschlossen sei. Wir kamen einen Code für die Zimmertür zugesandt und das Geld wurde 2 Tage vor der Anreise abgebucht. Flur und Zimmer waren sehr stylish mit cool im Zimmer integrierter Dusche und Toimette. Alte Möbel und Stuck an der Decke aber Spiegel mit LED Licht, Knopf im Spiegel integriert. Zimmer war recht klein, eine Seite des Doppelbetts stand direkt an der Wand, ungünstig wenn man nachts mal raus muss. Zimmer 101 liegt direkt neben der Eingangstür, die uns während der Nacht mehrfach weckte wenn sie zuknallte als die Nachtschwärmer nach Hause kamen. Außerdem standen alle Raucher immer genau vor diesem Fenster da es direkt neben dem Eingang lag. Frühstück war nicht inklusive, hätte man aber im Hotel Akureyri (das doch nicht geschlossen war) bekommen können. Ab 8.00 h a la carte ab 800 ISK. Sollten wir noch einmal in diese Stadt kommen würden wir wohl in ein anderes Hotel gehen.

Struttura molto carina con alcune camere con vista sul fiordo. Sicuramente le norme covid lo consiglieranno ma io preferisco il check in alla vecchia maniera piuttosto che l'asettico contactless. Camera molto piccola ma arredata con gusto (però toglierei il piano in finto marmo). Colazione ottima nel locale sottostante ma attenti a non esagerare con le ordinazioni: le porzioni sono gargantuesche, soprattutto per quanto riguarda l'ottimo skyr.

Great location in Akureyri with some great restaurants a short walk away. Rooms are on the small side but nicely decorated. Hotel could use better TV service as all 3 of our rooms were unable to watch for 2 nights. Staff was very friendly. Please note that this hotel operates electronically with staff available via phone. Also, breakfast is not included.

In my opinion the best hotel in Akureyri, by far. Beautiful outside snd inside, All the details and the wonderful restaurant, North, downstairs in Skjaldborg (where I had a lovely breakfast.. later dinner hopefully) Service so good and all made so easy and comfortable. Great little things as good tea selection, free soda and chocolate. I will be back 😃

Soo over on way to Grimsey Island. Very comfortable and a free mini bar is a bonus! Only issue would be the size of the room. Couldn’t open my clam type case unless I put it on the bed. The smoked trout breakfast however is fantastic!! Recommended

This is a quirky family run hotel, and first impressions were good. We stayed in the building that was once a cinema, and the styling of the entrance and the hallway was on theme and quite well done. Our room was quite small - although the largest in that particular part of the hotel - and was fine for our needs. The first impression when walking in was great, but when we looked closer we realised how dusty the room was. It looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned for weeks. With so much quirky styling in the room, it appears that the staff don't move anything when cleaning it. It was strange to have electronic check-in and check-out, but the code-entry to the room was easy and actually great to not have to remember your key all the time. Compared to many hotels in Iceland, this was far more affordable, and provided probably the best value for money of our whole trip.

Quarto ruim. Mal distribuído, apertado, chuveiro péssimo com a cortina que não fechava o box por completo. Pouquíssimas tomadas. A corda da cortina ficava num lugar de péssimo acesso. Foi uma dificuldade para fechar a cortina. Sem elevador e tivemos que subir até o 3o andar com as malas pelas escadas.
