Overview Seven of us came to Muthu Clube Praia Da Oura, Albufeira for a 7-day family holiday for my Dad’s 70th birthday, with six adults and one child at our party. Me and my husband had visited before in September 2023 and had a lovely time. This venue location is good and site well managed. It is not quite 'luxury' and is a little dated and tired in some areas. This is minimal and otherwise has everything we could have wanted for a great holiday. The staff were truly exceptional and an asset to the hotel and business. The food choice and quality was good. The complex is lovely, and the gardens and facilities are great. Accessibility signage could be better. Using the steps at times was challenging, and those with complex physical impairments may struggle. Better signage would help. Muthu Clube Praia Da Oura should be more transparent about its offer, advertising that it is adults-only and that stag parties are welcome. Or that it is a family-friendly hotel and large groups of men on stag holidays are not welcome. You can't have both and say its family-friendly. It’s a real shame; it could have been a fantastic family holiday, as everything else was great. In detail: Arrival Arrival was seamless, and the staff at the hotel were accommodating. Staff The staff were exceptional: hardworking, friendly and helpful. Majority spoke excellent English but appreciated our attempt at Portuguese. Staff quickly responded and resolved any issues and always greeted us with a smile and a friendly and helpful attitude. Rooms The rooms were generally clean and had essentials. However, we did notice dust and crumbs under our beds, which seemed to have been there for a while. Beds were very comfortable. Bottled water was not provided for arrival. We drank the tap water which is fine to drink but having cold bottled water for arrival would have been appreciated as we arrived in the evening around 9pm. We booked three rooms for our party of seven. My brother's party (with a child) was allocated a room on the opposite side of the complex facing a busy road which was noisy. My brother wanted to avoid the hassle of changing rooms, but we heard others had their rooms changed upon request. Two rooms of our group had great views, but our balcony overlooked a wall instead of the sea, pool or garden as advertised. The balcony furniture needed cleaning or updating, and a drying rack for our swimwear and towels would have been helpful. Food We were 'all-inclusive' and were pleased with the variety of the food, which was served on a hot and cold buffet daily at every meal. Sadly, things like ice pops and ice-creams were not available to children in all inclusive, just at mealtimes. We booked three of the restaurants on offer. Both the Mediterranean and Italian restaurants were excellent. The Indian restaurant booking wasn't accepted on arrival due to an 'admin error', so double-check things when you are there.
