"The main thing this has going for it is definitely the location. Upon arriving at the reception, the bar and proximity to the beach just blows you away. I think we were lucky with the room as it was very nice with a stunning sea view, but heard other rooms need a bit of a tidy up. In general this can be said about the whole place really. It's not bad, but it does need to be upgraded. The food is good, we are not fussy and loved it but again heard others were less enamored. The restaurant and bar are very busy, and for the size of the place, needs more venues. It is ideally situated between old and new towns, we preferred the old town, but I have to say I've been years ago, and both have gotten far too busy. I get partying is a thing, but they are too busy, spoiling the places to be fair, especially the old town, which has lost its charm"

"The room was much bigger than we first expected. Not the room type we were expecting but the room seemed to be upgraded with a larger bed and room size. Liked how the hotel embrace sustainability by having wooden room cards and paper made hangers, my friend and I really enjoyed the stay without the kids' noises. The swings on 5th Floor were quite fun, so as the sunbathing area on 6th floor. Sound cancellation was superb as the hotel locates at the noisest area of Albufeira but we cannot hear any music when we stepped into the room. Otherwise, there's two entrance which can get you to different part of Albufeira, therefore overall it is very convenience. Will look forward to visit the hotel again."

"The hotel is quite new, and the rooms are spacious enough. The location is good; there's a small beach right outside the hotel's back exit, perfect for a walk or renting a SUP. The food at Sombra and the rooftop bar was decent, but the breakfast left a lot to be desired. The overall layout and flow of the hotel are poorly designed. The restaurant is located in the center of the building, and during operating hours, you can access the pool through it. However, if it's off-hours, you have to go up to the lobby, then take another elevator down, making for a long detour to reach the garden and sunbathe. Beyond that, while the staff were all friendly, it was clear they were understaffed during peak season and had many new recruits. Upon arrival, no concierge came out to help with luggage or valet parking. I kept seeing the same staff members at the deck bar, rooftop bar, and Sombra, and housekeeping was scheduled quite late, always coinciding with my afternoon return to the room for a rest. Furthermore, the front desk staff seemed quite unfamiliar with their duties, often giving incorrect instructions. I also had a hiking activity booked, but no staff member showed up to lead it. In summary, it's a resort hotel with good facilities, but the service quality doesn't quite match the Kimpton brand. However, I did see managers training new staff frequently. The overall experience was above average but could definitely be improved."
