Very kind staff though not so problem-solving oriented. Spacious room. No toilet paper in the room upon arrival. Food was a problem: evening snack included (to make toasts/sandwiches) but no restaurant at the hotel. In addition, needed to plan at what time we wanted to have breakfast (probably corona-related issue), and (most importantly), the food for breakfast (though large choice available) was cold and/or feeling like it was cooked a day or two ago (especially the fried eggs). Machine serving coffee, hot chocolate and such did not function properly and was still not fixed when we left after two nights. Bowling next to the hotel. 15 minutes from Ålesund by car. Poor restaurant recommendation by staff.

The rooms in this property are just fine, and the breakfast was very good, as is typical for Thon Hotels. However, the location was very odd for a Thon Hotel. The lobby for the hotel is shared with a bowling alley, and while the surrounding area is certainly not unseemly, it is mostly residential and there is virtually no place to dine. Again, this is not necessarily a bad review; we were just surprised because the other Thon Hotels we stayed in on this trip were quite nice, and this one was, in my view, a 2.5 star hotel. If you are just staying the night (as we did) the rooms and breakfast are very nice; but that is all you should expect.
