Hotels in San Juan Beach, Alicante

The biggest advantage is that it is very close to the beach, just a few minutes' walk away. There are many bars and restaurants nearby, making dining very convenient. The room is very good, the balcony is very big, and you can see the sea from the balcony! The only problem is that the bar next to it is a little noisy at night, but it doesn't matter to people who are not sensitive to noise.

Nice hotel very nice food and an excellent location with views over the golf course and near tram stops too if you need to get into the city.Nice staff but we got back from a night out and the bar was closed but given the location we would use this again .

LOCATION 4/5 If you want a cheap and cheerful hotel to rest your head and a base to explore, then this will be the place for you. I wouldn't want to stay here for a week but its ok for a few nights. Located a 5 minute walk from the beach, its in a good location with plenty of restaurants down at the beach and nearby. This is not in the hustle and bustle of the city centre and so if you would rather be more central then you could stay here and get a bus/tram into the centre. Its about 1.5 hours to walk from here to the castle near to the city centre or 20 mins by car. FACILITIES 3/5 The facilities at the hotel are pretty basic. There is one outdoor pool (not heated) with sun loungers, on site restaurant, gym and sauna, the sauna was not in use when we stayed and the gym is pretty basic. There is however plenty of gyms to use along the beach front if you want to get some exercise, along with beach volleyball, football and other activities to keep you active if that's what you like. The pool as stated is not heated so pretty cold but that can be welcoming in high temperatures but not so good for an early morning dip. We visited in September so out of season and there were plenty of free sunbeds, however I can imagine in summer season you may struggle to get one. I also found that the pool was over run by children, even when visited out of season, so if you don't like too many children I would avoid this hotel as it is very family friendly. ROOM 3/5 The room was adequate with a comfy bed, all be it the beds were just pushed together and moved about a lot and i ended up falling down a gap in the middle of them. Aircon was good as was the shower, whihc was hot and powerful. Clothes line option in bathroom to hang your wets and a standard low powered hair dryer provided. No tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, but there was a small fridge to store your bottled water. You are not allowed to consume food and drink on site note bought there so not sure what else they expect you to store in the fridge. Electronic safe in wardrobe was easy to use and free. The windows could be opened and in addition to air con is a ceiling fan if you are not a fan or air con. STAFF 4/5 The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful and welcoming. No issues at reception or in the restaurant. We asked several questions during our stay and they were very accommodating in helping us. FOOD 3/5 The breakfast buffet is standard for Europe with some hot options and continental breakfast, cereals, fruit etc. The quality of food is ok and like I said at the beginning this is a cheap and cheerful hotel, you pay for what you get so don't expect amazing food quality. There is no allergen information so this can make things difficult if you have an allergen and you may have to ask staff to assist you with what you can and cannot eat. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We didn't want to stay in the centre of Alicante but wanted to be close to the beach. San Juan beach is across the road/tram tracks and there are a few beach restaurants/bars along the beach strip. These restaurants mainly serve Mediterranean cuisine and seafood, and we ate at Casa Domingo which was great. There are also bars and restaurants a few streets away from the hotel among the residential area. We spotted some sports bars, burger places and pizza places around that area. The hotel grounds are lovely with a nice garden and pool area. There is also a pool bar and music playing while you lounge beside the pool. The hotel had outdoor bar and restaurant seating areas which was lovely at night and for breakfast in the morning. We ate tapas in the restaurant a few nights and enjoyed the food. The breakfast selection was really good, a mix of hot and cold foods, breads, fruits etc and I enjoyed the lovely cold Spanish omelette slice every morning!! There is a Consum supermercado about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and a pharmacy too. The supermarket is quite big and has everything you need. Our room faced out the front of the hotel and we had a pool view as the pool is across from the front entrance to the hotel. The balcony was nice and clean and we could dry our towels on the railing. The room was nice, clean and modern and the air conditioning was amazing during the 30+ degree heat. There's a fridge and a kettle so it was handy to keep some drinks chilled. Our only quibble was the shower was missing a door so it was impossible not to get the floor wet, even with the floor towel. It's not a big issue but the hotel should really have a shower door to avoid unnecessary damage to their flooring. The reception staff were really nice, as were the restaurant and bar staff. The tram stop to get to Alicante city centre is about 5 minutes away from the hotel. You can pay on the tram by card and can select English on the machine. It's about 2.90euro to travel to the city centre and takes about 15 mins. It was a really nice location if you want to spend time by the lovely San Juan beach or by the pool. If you do want more action at night, the tram will bring you to the city and taxis are reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed 2 nights in the hotel and had a very pleasant stay. The rooms were a good size and had a fridge, tea kettle and the usual bathroom amenities. They were clean and quiet. The staff at the hotel were pleasant and helpful. We had dinner there one evening and it was quite good. The buffet breakfast was fine and had a good variety of food. The hotel is not near the area where much of the restaurants, shops and beaches are so we needed to take taxis but it wasn’t too expensive to get there. We did use the parking garage. I have to say that the garages in hotels in Europe are challenging at times. We were driving an SUV and there are some tight spaces to get around. But the parking wasn’t too expensive and there were always spaces available.

We stayed the last three nights at this hotel. We stayed exactly 10 years ago in a Level Suite with sea and beach views. Beware that on this side are some suites with really small balconies. We did stay in one of them. This time we chose the marina view. All suites on this side have huge balconies. Also, you will get stunning sunsets. However, during the daytime, it can be too hot to sit on the balcony. The marina side is much sunnier. Our suite on the 4th floor has been recently renovated because it had modern decor. There were two bathrooms: one with a shower and one with a tub. This 5-floor hotel is big with over 100 rooms per floor. The breakfast was quite crowded at 10:00. On the last morning, we went at 8:00 and it was pleasantly calm. The food selection is very wide. Our stay had a good value for the paid 153 euros per night (plus a total of 8.000 Melia points). This rate was flexible and included breakfast.

In Europe, there are 24 square-foot rooms that are oversized, and the service is good and clean. Because I do n’t like European meals, I cook with electric cups, but 1.5 yuan of freshly ground coffee is quite good. Museum, Barbara Castle, beach, yacht marina , Sailing Wharf, Acampo hypermarket are all nearby, and there are T1 ～ T4 subway transfer stations at the door, 23, 2 and C6 to the airport and train station bus station. Apart from Mela, it is the most beautiful in Alicante, but it is too expensive. I personally think that Maya is the most ideal and convenient.

The hotel position is good.It just took me few minutes walking to the beach & port.of course theSanbaba Castle is very near.it's very very close to train station.there's roof top sunshine chairs.u can go to the top to enjoy sunshine. but the room is a little old.the towels are too old too dark.I suggest to change the towels.or I have to bring towels by myself.

Very nice hotel and room but no welcome water in room / no kettle or access to making hot drinks in room / no mini fridge in room , we could here people in other rooms have bed fun so sound proof is not good , I would book again on my second Choice but would not book on first choice. Hotel is near the beach We are at reception if they had complimentary water and they pointed me to a vending machine. This was 11 o’clock at night next door and purchase water, vending machine prices. All round a hood 2 - 3 star hotel

We recently spent nine nights in this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms, though not huge are spotless and very well equipped. Cleaning was top class…. Compliments to the chambermaid whose name I didn’t get ( room 909) . Staff at reception were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. There was a wide variety of food available……fruit, yogurts, cold meats, cheeses, cakes, bacon, eggs, sausages and a good selection of breads. The location is excellent……across the road from airport bus stop and fifteen minute walk from train station. It is a short walk down to the old town and promenade. There is a bar and food service in the lobby in the evenings which we were unaware of for the first few days. Perhaps this could be better advertised, maybe as one approaches the lifts? The lift situation is quite slow……there are only two lifts for ten floors and they take ages to come. A small quibble for an otherwise excellent hotel. We would be more than happy to stay here again.
