The overall room is generally the same, the environment is good, but there are some comparison pits, 1: wifi daily limit, if you run out, you have to buy the network, your mobile phone traffic is very poor, the basic display is not, out of the hotel, your mobile phone has traffic I feel that the hotel deliberately blocked the signal and let us pay for it. 2: This hotel will not clean the room unless you have lived for 8 days. It is not cleaned every day.

Good budget accommodation. The kitchenette provided was good enough to get buy on. We could not leave the aircon on when not in the villa which I did not like. December is very hot day and night in Alice. The villa itself was clean and the pool is really the reason we booked having stayed before and loved the pool. A bit of a walk into town centre but doable. The reception has basic items available including alcohol. Great for families and groups and couples like us, will be staying here again. My only complaint is I stayed for 9 days and would have liked the room given a full service at least once during that time.

As we are loyal members of the Accor group of hotels we usually know what standards to expect and this was no exception. We appreciate the two for one meals and free drink on arrival. The resort was full as there are were a lot of tourists. We were greeted by the very helpful and friendly Javier from Peru at reception. We felt very welcome after a very long day's travel. Our room was comfortable and clean, although could do with some refreshment. For instance the curtains did not fully close and the lights outside shined in all night. The bathroom screen could do with a update but these are minor issues. Although not on the free drink availability we really loved the Mocktails at the bar -amazing and quite a few choices. I also appreciated the security of the resort with a high fence around and outside lighting as Alice Springs has been in the news for its recent lawlessness. The hotel is also walking distance to the town centre which is another drawcard. Hopefully Alice Springs will regain its good reputation for encouraging the tourists to its wonderful tourist attractions

This is not the Ritz Carlton. But it doesn't claim to be and I would definitely stay here again. It was clean, comfortable, safe, and an easy walk to most everything we wanted to do in town. There's a fridge in the room and a hot pot to make instant coffee. Yes you could hear street noise at night and if people on the street are yelling you can hear it in the room. But that was temporary and only one night for a few minutes. (can't control the population...). We didn't want to drive, and this made it easy to walk to all the bars and restaurants, the grocery store, bus stop, etc. Most of the upscale hotels are much farther away so you'd have to get transportation back and forth or just stay on their property. This worked out great for us and I'd stay there again. Just know it's not the Ritz (and Alice Springs isn't Sydney)...

I arrived early in the morning and went to reception to leave my bags and go for a wander and was told I should come back around 12 to get in the room. I got back around 11 and sat by the pool and at 11:30 Anna came over with my key card and told me I could go to my room (she did the same with a few other people too so it was lovely she remembered us all) it was a nice touch that she went out of her to find us and give us keys. The hostel at first appearance looks slightly run down but my goodness I was so surprised by how clean everywhere was. There was always multiple staff/volunteers around the hostel cleaning up and it showed. The kitchen especially was the cleanest most organised kitchen I’ve seen in terms of hostels so that was a massive bonus! ‘Uncle’ is one of the volunteers here and is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He took a few of us to Emily gap one day on his break, then another time to the Telegraph station. Another evening he did a talk with us to teach us all about Uluru before we took a tour the next day, so we could appreciate it in the eyes of the aboriginal people. It was such a nice touch to get to speak to someone so knowledgable on a personal level. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area, you won’t regret it. All the staff are super friendly and chatty, and the outdoor cinema is a nice authentic touch every evening.

If you are looking for the most fabulous stay in Alice Springs, look no further than A Good Rest BNB. Apart from being an outstanding property, you secure the most outstanding of hosts. From my initial contact with Margaret, I was blown away by her supportive generosity and her flexibility with our travel plans. Margaret was at the front path to meet us. She had prepared an excellent meal which was just the start of many shared meals and stimulating conversations together with both her and her best support act, Alf. Both Margaret and Alf went out of their way to make our stay in Alice so happy and safe. Our accomodation in the villa was a 5 star experience. Everything was beautifully appointed.with high quality bedding , furnishings etc. Everything is spotlessly maintained. There were too many thoughtful kindnesses to list. But if you are looking for excellent accomodation in Alice Springs, hosted by two good humans …look no further. Thank you sincerely Margaret and Alf for such a memorable stay.

GGuest UserWhat a terrible experience. Other guests were appalled at the way I was treated. Apparently two ways to book this accommodation. Website Kathys Bnb. Or AirBnb. Soon found out if you book on airBnb Kathy ain’t too happy as she has to wait for her money (as she told me ). Hence I am a spoken to abruptly. Told off for not waiting in her lounge for the delivery of my pizza. Room had junk and an unused bar that looked awful The room had no atmosphere and was so far from homely. It cost me $170 for one night. The pillows were paper thin. The sheets cheap. Breakfast was provided I joined them ( Kathy and a couple in another room who had booked through the Kathys website ). I was instructed by Kathy to take the breakfast items from continental breakfast. Couple were having bacon and eggs I asked about the provision of bacon and eggs to which Kathy replied ‘ you don’t get that as you booked through air bnb and I have to wait for my money ‘ !!!! Was she serious. Yes. Further on she continued to be rude and ignore me infront of the other guests who acknowledged my concerns with her attitude. I discussed with her on leaving only to be told I was rude and my behaviour was not acceptable. What ??!! I had ordered the pizza and apparently that was a disruptive event I had not sat down with the other guests on my arrival but I didn’t even know they were guests till the morning as I thought they were Kathys friends. I had a shocking sleep and had to sms Kathy to postpone my breakfast until 7 am instead of 6 am as previously arranged That was apparently one of her concerns with me. She was cross at me for what seemed like the simple fact I had booked through air bnb Kathy - you need to take it off Airbnb if you don’t like their system You also need to be mindful of how your attitude may impact on people

GGuest UserThe Diplomat Motel is in a central location close to shops. Stumps Café is on site and open for breakfast and lunch. Staff are friendly and there is a reasonable menu and the food and coffee are good quality. Uncles Tavern is also on site and serves good quality bar meals for dinner. The tavern was busy but meals were available in a reasonable time and drinks available after a short wait in a queue. We stayed at The Diplomat for 2 nights in a King Room on the first floor. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was close to the corner of Gregory Terrace and Hartley street and whilst it was close to the tavern we didn't notice excessive noise other than some loud cars on the adjacent streets. The main room and bathroom were large and the air conditioning effective. There was a small amount of rust on the shower screen and some cracked tiles in the bathroom. The King size bed was comfortable but the sheets were worn thin and had been repaired. There were stains on the carpet.
