Tenir Eco Hotel, Shymbulak Mountain Resort

My husband and I came to Almaty for a visit from Australia, we stayed at Tenir hotel in Sep22 for a night !it’s an Awesome hotel!! Absolutely gorgeous views!! The cabins are amazing , super cosy and have saunas!!! We really enjoyed the stay!! The restaurant nearby Oblaka is also really good! Great delicious food, excellent service beautiful views and really nice a**osphere!! There’s also an awesome hiking trail to a glacier! Highly recommend Tenir hotel and it’s a must visit when in Almaty!!!

The actual hotel room was nice, however the inside sauna was ok, it did not heat up to the temperature we expected given the cold weather conditions. The footpaths were uncomfortable when walking up and down. Rubbish was left in eyesight that made photographs and a**osphere not as pretty from Tenir hotels social media platforms we saw before arrival. When booking the hotel we were happy to see we receive a 5% discount at the 2 restaurants however, only 1 restaurant was working. The other one had closed completely leaving us with a small menu for both lunch and dinner - this was just annoying! Also at one point the discount was 5% and the next time it was 10%. The discount was not clear at all. The employees at the restaurant were not aware of the discount the hotel offered customers so it was awkward when asking for the bill and discount, especially with the language barrier. Additionally, we had booked and paid before hand for activities which were not explained by the staff at arrival. Employees were very keen on charging is money even though we had paid. Plus, breakfast times were unclear and not explained by staff. Overall, paying over £400 for a night plus 2 activities I will say it was not worth the stay. Only for the reason my partner had planned this surprise for me, I was able to enjoy my visit.

I spent a night at Tenir Eco hotel and it was a truly amazing experience, out of the ordinary. The hotel is located in Shymbulak in high altitude. Rather than a hotel, it is an ensemble of small individual “houses” and each has a sauna and the comfiest beds ever. The views are amazing and the room is very well equipped especially given the isolated location. Service was top-notch and If you need anything during your stay, you can call the reception and they would bring us anything we needed right away. They are also very proactive on offering help which was really appreciated. Breakfast is served in a nearby restaurant and the food was amazing although very limited in choice. The only disappoin**ent is is that although their eco branding, their was some single-use plastic equipment in the room (bathroom amenities, toothbrush, etc). The only thing that was missing in my opinion was a bathtub which would be an amazing thing to have after a day in the cold skiing. It’s definitely on the pricey side but well worth it for this unique location and experience !

We loved the experience of staying one night at Tenir Eco Hotel at 3,200 Mts and would highly recommend this experience as this was by far a highlight of our trip to Kazakhstan. he hotel is very well managed and kudos to Sabit, the hotel Supervisor, who was super helpful, diligent and took very good care of us during our memorable stay. Also special mentioning to the Oblaka resto-bar that provides food and drinks for the hotel guests. Vey impressed with the quality of the food and service of everybody there. In sum, a must stop if you really want to enjoy Shymbulak mountain in any season of the year!

we were celebrating birthday of my wife. it was right decision for this important date. we were surrounded by great nature. staff provides excellent service. solitude. if you want activities it is an amazing place for winter sport. all day and night you will have magnificent view of mountains. if you feel cold at end of the day, you will have your own sauna where you can warm up.

Must stay at this beautiful hotel ! Lifetime experience! 5 pm cable car stopped and who left only couple of people who stays in hotel! Perfect nature , silence Clouds ( Oblaka) restaurant provide food & drink until 9:30 pm and they have delicious menu ! If you want to experience mountain energy, silence and nature this is the right place ! Clean .. basic … even there is a mini sauna in the rooms … love it totally ! ❤️
