Almedina Hotels with Airport pickup service

The rooms are air-conditioned with warm and cold air, very clean and tidy, and the hot water is great. The ventilation fan in the toilet will automatically turn off at night and turn on during the day. Three languages are spoken at the front desk and the service is also very good. Overall the price/performance ratio is very good, the room can see the Mondego River, opposite the park, there is Burger King nearby, and the central street of Coimbra is 5 minutes' walk away. European hotels do not provide toiletries and there are no slippers in the rooms. Very satisfied.

Very basic chained hotel - take note there are old rooms and new rooms for the hotel in Coimbra. The photos listed mostly show the new rooms but we were given the old room which was super dated. Even the remote control for the TV was not working. We requested for the new room and thankfully one was available for immediate check-in. Apparently only 5 out of 90 rooms are revamped? Only the reception staff could speak English. Location was about 10 mins walk to city centre and 5 mins drive from Coimbra-B train station via Uber. You may refer to my photos to see the difference between the old and the new room.

This is my go to hotel every year. The best hotel around this area in Portugal. The ladies are amazing. From front desk to the cleaning staff. They will amaze you with their kidness. They go above and beyond to meet our needs. My daughter doesn't drink regular milk and they provided almond milk as soon as they found out that that is the type of milk she drinks. Breakfast is amazing and fresh. The Coffee machines are incredible. You can get a fresh beverage 24/7. The place is the cleanest you will ever find. It is deserving if a 5 * review.

The staff's attention is quite satisfactory, the hotel is new and the facilities are well-cared and clean, but the images of the SPA are too generous to the reality. The fact that the SPA is in a part building with open air access by a rampa or stairs about 50 metres from the main building makes it unpleasant to use it in rain or cold weather days. A pool that has been locked up for a hotel of this size, deserves a review of the offer. With the hotel in full lotion, the use of the spa facilities is even a disappointment. Breakfast is of good quality and varied in the offer of viver.

It’s a joke when someone can’t sit on the toilet properly because the counter tops were cut to large and do they hang over your legs like your sitting in a hi-chair. It shows the hotels disrespect for the comfort of their guest When they could’ve taken care of it when it was first put it in. Whatever happened to comfort we’ll it’s not here the beds are rock hard ant the pillow cases feel like disposable ones. I won’t even get started about the customer service. Charming. Yes, it is a little old fashioned but as it sails serenely towards its 100th birthday we found it a lovely antidote to the identikit modernity offered by so many tourist hotels. The location is just about perfect for travellers as it's only a few minutes walk from both the railway station and the main street. The staff are superb; welcoming and a very good source of information if required.

Reservamos sem referências, 2 quartos pois estávamos acompanhados dos nossos filhos já adultos e por 1 noite já que estávamos por um fim de semana na zona para visitar a família. O hotel está muito bem localizado, com uma envolvente verdejante. Recentemente renovado, a decoração é simples e elegante. É de salientar a cama muito confortável e cheirosa…um sonho. O pequeno almoço é muito completo e variado. O espaço da piscina exterior é muito agradável. Outros pontos positivos: a limpeza e o staff atencioso/simpático. Ficamos com vontade de voltar pois parece excelente para descansar e descobrir a natureza e a paisagem envolvente muito linda!

Very quiet hotel. Despite the magnificent building, all the staff are very close to the guests and care about their happiness. This time I stayed in a superior room with large windows. The area and direct light of the toilet are all you like. The restaurant offers a balanced buffet, exquisite breakfast and everything you want. Restaurant service and decent breakfast. Me at 72 years, accustomed to traditional hotels couldn´t resist to stay here. Looked crazy enough to dare. And it is different. The rooms aka boxes are what was promised, comfortable bed, and a bathroom large enough. Friendly, helpful and engaged people working there. The breakfast was like the rooms, very small. Half size bread etc didn´t match the €6 pricetag. Overall it was a strange but pleasent experience. Very much because of the personal.
