I didn't expect that the hotel is so beautiful, with indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The hotel's breakfast is also very rich, and the fruits for breakfast are very fresh. The hotel service staff are very nice and very welcoming.

Just back from here and although overall a good week the standards claimed here are questionable. As people the staff are great and attentive when you do need them, just they appear to be poorly managed in the delivery and operations. It did seem mid week that a lot of staff had just dissapeared from breakfast service and it was really poor. Location is perfect, its is quiet but this place needs a serious makeover as its looking dirty and tired in many places. Alarmingly there are so many safety and trip hazards here waiting to catch you so just be very, very careful in watching your steps! (even the staff know of this!) Have been visiting Alvor for many year's I was looking for my mother to use here for 8 weeks Feb/Mar but now need to consider the other hotels first. Overall 3 maybe 4 star but never 5.

Sehr gute Location, direkt am Meer, herrliche Aussicht, sehr schöne Poolanlage, direkter Zugang zum wunderschönen Strand, tolles Wetter und im April noch sehr ruhig, hervorragendes Servivepersonal, tolles Frühstück mit grossem Angebot bis um 11 mit Live- Piano. Sehr schönes Zimmer mit Meerblick, alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. 8 Golfplãtze in direkter Umgebung- Komme gerne wieder, auch der Ausflug vom Hotel angeboten war sehr schön- rundum tolle Ferien! What a fantastic week at the Pescana Alvor Praia. We have just spent our 25th wedding anniversary at the hotel and we couldn’t have wished for a better time. We were very happy with everything. The room was lovely, we had a garden and partial sea view. The staff were fantastic especially Patricia on reception, Racqual and Tomas and their brilliant team at breakfast. They catered well for my gluten free diet and were very attentive. The selection of food at breakfast was great and of very good quality. We had a special treat on our anniversary and I wish to thank them all very much. The hotel is in a lovely location and we’d highly recommend it.

While the hotel is good, clean and food is good, the Dom Henrique bar keep is questionable. 1st night I asked to be charged in Euros, he did not. 2nd night, I wanted to pay in Cash, was told by the same man, only card. I made sure that he heard me say Euros, he said yes, and proceeded to charge in USD. $5.00 more each night. There is Also “ another charge” and Service charge together makes the additional $5.00 . I asked the Front desk if I was charged in USD, yes I was and that I had to go back and reverse the charge and redo. Hmmm I told them what happened and lodge a complaint.
