Alvor Hotels with Airport pickup service

Fantastic hotel. Rooms cleaned every day location great. Reception staff very helpful and always had a smile Big thank you to Thomas ( I think that’s his name) at reception. Almost every night we asked him for directions to restaurants/ bus stops etc and he was so good at explaining it to us. Lovely pool area small but quiet and relaxing Breakfast staff were fine but a simple smile in the morning would have been nice A bit “ grumpy “ to say the least. Umberto was just great. He’s the tall one. Always had the biggest smile for you when we walked in. Very very nice man. Would recommend this hotel. If I ever return to ALVOR , I will certainly return to this hotel. !!! Just to say the jet 2 rep was wonderful. I took ILL one morning and she went above and beyond to help me. Phoned later that day to check on me and also the following day too. Wish I could remember her name. So a big thank you to her !!!

I would love to give this place a poor review to put people off going so I could keep it for myself but that would be doing the staff a real disservice. I can't fault this place at all- the place was spotless inside and out and the rooms were well equipped with fridge ,safe and air conditioning and lovely hot showers. The breakfast had something for everyone and changed each day. The staff are the real star of the show though and nothing is too much trouble. We mentioned we were looking for worry beads and the next thing we knew one of the waitresses at breakfast went across the street and brought back a selection for us to choose from and purchase from the shop opposite. Special mention to Ioanna who was so friendly and up for a laugh she really made our holiday. Great Central location but quiet with a lovely small pool and pool area. Can't wait to come back!

From the very beginning when we arrived at this Hotel 23rd September 2022 the lady on the Reception was very professional and welcoming. We arrived just after 12.00 hrs and the lady advised that our room may not be ready but she still made a telephone call to housekeeping. Unfortunately it was not ready but we were able to store our cases and go and explore. When we returned back the room was ready, the porter took our cases to the room and it was perfect, room 31 overlooking the pool, very clean, modern and well equipped for our needs. The following morning the breakfast was amazing and I mean amazing I have never seen a hotel accomodate every taste it was absolutely fantastic. I cannot comment on the restaurants available because we like to eat out to taste the culture of the area we are visiting. The pool area looked lovely but we are not pool people we like exploring but that is our choice. We did on return from our days out sit on our balcony which was spacious and had a lovely view of the pool. In the mornings we did see how the hotel pay attention to detail with the cleaners out cleaning the beds and pool area. We did have a drink the bar area one evening which was reasonably priced and it is a lovely area to relax. I would have no problem in recommending this hotel to my friends and family in fact we are looking to book again next September.

Just back from a 5 day stay at this wonderful hotel. This was our second stay at this hotel. Had a lovely room on 2nd floor overlooking pool. View was amazing and loved watching donkeys and goats in the yonder fields. Rooms were huge with a kitchen which if you wanted had everything you would need. We were bed and breakfast which always had enough choice. The reception staff were the friendliest people we have ever encountered in any hotel we have ever stopped in. Always a smile and a wave wherever they saw you. The pool was never crowded and always got a sunbed. Maybes my only gripe was the umbrellas could be changed as there were a few broken at end of season. It was a 10 minute walk into the town with loads of bars and restaurants. Already planning a 10 night holiday for next year.

A very clean, quiet and very friendly family run hotel not to far from centre of luz. Stayed here for 8 days and it was so relaxing. A decent size pool, 2.2m at one end, lots of loungers for everyone. Free WiFi all around the hotel. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh bedding and great free air-conditioning. Decent snacks and super bock on tap. Luno (waiter) very friendly and witty, joking all day. Would 100% stay here against, loved our time here. Met some lovely people here too

We stayed at the Tivoli Alvor from the end of May to early June 2024, and overall, our experience was positive with a few areas for improvement. Check-In and Room Experience: Our check-in process had a hiccup as we were initially given the wrong wristbands. However, this was resolved the next day. We booked a premium family suite, which included two rooms, making it ideal for our family. A common area for parents to relax while children sleep would have been a nice addition, as my partner and I had to split up to stay with our four children. The rooms were quiet and had YouTube-enabled TVs. The beds were very comfortable, and we were pleased with the cleanliness, as the rooms were cleaned as often as we requested. Facilities and Pools The hotel boasts numerous pools suitable for various age ranges, including an adults-only pool. The kids loved the pools and the activities offered by the kids' club, which included crazy golf, tennis, football and basketball as well as a park for younger kids. However, more seating around the play area would be appreciated for parents to relax while keeping an eye on their children. Dining Experience: The dining options were typical of an all-inclusive resort with a variety of choices. The food quality was good but not exceptional. A significant drawback was the lack of readily available vegan desserts for our son, who has dairy and egg allergies. While the chef prepared special meals upon request in the bookable restaurants, the daily selection was limited, and we often had to ask repeatedly. Spa Services: One of the highlight of my stay was the spa. I had several treatments with Tania, who provided the best massages I've ever experienced! She made me feel incredibly relaxed and was both professional and personable. Her treatments felt like a real retreat from the daily hustle of family life. I highly recommend Tania for her outstanding service and warm energy. Staff and Service: The staff at Tivoli Alvor were phenomenal and truly made our stay memorable. Special mentions go to Rafael Sena and Philippe Sandes. Rafael went out of his way to ensure that our son (who had allergies) had suitable meal options and was always attentive to our needs. Philippe provided exceptional service, showing great attention to detail and making us feel well cared for even during busy times. Entertainment and Activities: The kids enjoyed the early evening disco at 5:30 PM, which was perfectly timed before dinner. However, the main evening entertainment starting at 9:30 PM was too late for our young children, making it difficult for them to stay up and enjoy it. Suggestions for Improvement: - Enhance the food temperature management in the main restaurant. - Increase the availability of vegan and allergen-friendly desserts. - Add more seating around the play areas for parents. - Consider adjusting the timing of the evening entertainment to be more family-friendly. Very good hotel. Very secluded, ideal for those seeking some peace. Nice area, great pool and well-kept golf course. Large, modern rooms with balcony / terrace. Worthwhile evening buffet. Enjoyed the time there.

Please be careful with what kind of accommodation you book, I made the mistake of booking a “twin room” for my elderly parents, it was the most basic of rooms and the only outside space was a tiny triangle of patio at the front of the flat (see pics) my parents had to ask for seats so they could sit out there. Again this is my fault NOT the hotel but I thought I needed to add this in for people who might be thinking of booking the budget room. Cons - The restaurant - if you want to eat at the restaurant you won’t be able to see what’s available on the menu until you have been seated, which can lead to embarrassment if like myself you're allergic to onions and everything on the menu seemed to contain onion so I had to get up in front of everyone and explain to the staff why I was leaving! I asked if there was an alternative which there was but was told if I wanted this I had to pay, having already paid for half board accommodation I found this to be very unfair as it’s an allergy not a choice.! I would suggest that in future to save any embarrassment you would put up the evenings menu where people can make a choice before entering the restaurant. The room itself was very basic no kettle meaning no options to make yourself a drink when wanted. The shower screen was leaking, had someone come out to fix this twice but it was still leaking and so had to keep putting towels on floor. No shuttle bus from hotel to town/beach as advertised on their website. Apparently it finished at the end of their season which isn’t what it said when I booked the holiday and the hotel was fully booked so really can’t understand why it wasn’t running. As other people have stated in these comments the pool chairs were filthy there were some really awful ones full of black stuff!! Pros- A choice of 2 swimming pools, the complex as a whole was very nice like a little village. The reception staff were very helpful and polite.
