Wateredge Inn- the Inn Collection Group

Double room in the main hotel. Room very small, shower was the tiniest ever, barely big enough to stand in, with sink in the bedroom not in the en-suite. No safe, no dressing table. Not as advertised! Breakfast - a good selection, warm food needs to be hotter. Hotel - nice position

The breakfast area was very cramped and not much room to walk about due to it being self service . Choice of food at breakfast was very good .

It wouldn't be unfair to say that The Wateredge is like an upmarket Wethertspoons. But having said that, it was really quite good. The room ( Number ! ) was superb; the nar/restaurant was good enough for us not to want to go anywhere else during our stay ; the hardworking staff were tremendous ; and the location was even better than the descriptions of the hotel. Not cheap () well, at least not cheap at weekend ) but worth it. Thanks.

We stayed here on the “Walk Inn break” package and it was really good value! Literally all of the staff were very friendly and helpful and give us some additional advice on some good local walks. The Windermere Room, breakfast and evening meal were all excellent and it felt like we had been away for more than just two nights… In a good way!

Let down last minute by the Fisherbeck hotel who have now apparently CLOSED. Water edge is a much nicer place and location. Good in the hotel is a little pricey for pub grub but was very good quality. Not a busy time but Staff were very welcoming and attentive We had 2 rooms, one of which was a little more expensive but was larger and a lake view. Overall, would I recommend? YES

Overall very good - all staff were friendly and approachable . The decor and quirky lakeside building is lovely in a great location for Waterhead / boats and about 15 min walk into Ambleside . Always room in the car park whilst we were there . The quality of food was very good . The breakfast was great and we ate in one night (Pizza good but the chicken with mash / spring greens was small portion and the spring greens was basically peas ?! ) We stayed for 2 nights in a balcony room which was very large , comfortable and beautifully furnished . The view from the room (20) was great - out to the Lake. ( but be aware is also overlooking some of the car park !) The room was only let down a little by the road noise ( is last room in annexe block by entrance to car park /road ) and the bathroom ( the bathroom floor tiles didn’t look finished - grout? and didn’t meet the shower entrance was uneven gaps , there was also quite a bit of mold in the shower area) which was a shame because everything else was lovely . Would I stay again - yes

Greeted by super-friendly and helpful staff. Room was a really good size for a standard double and had great views of the lake. The food at the pub was excellent for dinner as well as the breakfast. Easy parking. Will return in the summer!
