Rothay Garth ★★★★
"Great convenient place to stay. Good breakfast. Easy check in. Car park can be tricky if you arrive late but luckily I found a space. Spacious room."
YHA Ambleside ★★
"Budget friendly ✌️🌅"
Waterhead Rooms & Suites - Parking and Light Breakfast ★★★★
"The room looked quite modern, and the air conditioning was a nice touch. The location was good and convenient. Since it was self-check-in, I didn't see any staff, so I can't comment on the service. Breakfast was simple, but the coffee was okay. The pillow was too high, so I didn't sleep well. There was some noise from passing cars in front of the window. Overall, it was alright."
Ambleside Townhouse ★★★★
"The hotel prices in the lake area are inflated. This is a B&B. I don't know why the price is so high. I also don't know why the rating is so high?"
Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa ★★★★
Waterhead Retreat - Ground Floor, Private Entrance, Parking and Light Breakfast ★★★★
"Great location, clean, parking space is little congested"
YHA Langdale ★★
"Langdale YHA surprised both me and my partner with the beautiful views and the national trust reservation right on the doorstep. The food was tasty and the rooms and toilets maintained to a great standard. We were both very happy with our stay. The staff were absolute legends and they made us feel welcomed and looked after. I was silly and left my iPad behind and these guys helped me out loads posting it back to me. If I could give more stars I would! Also love the rooster Derek he was great too!"
Elder Grove ★★★★
Windermere Rooms at the Wateredge Inn ★★★★
"A harmonious environment in a quiet and beautiful environment."

Ees Wyke Country House
"We booked a last minute stay at Ees Wyke after being disappointed with a different hotel nearby… I wish we had booked at Ees Wyke from the start! It is a beautiful, homely and very welcoming hotel. Breakfast is delicious and it was so enjoyable to have drinks by the fire. The surroundings are breathtaking and well located for walks. I’d love to stay again"

"It's a bit old, but otherwise it's fine."
Rydal Hall Christian Retreat Centre
"Got a very good deal through Travel Zoo, so didn't expect much. It was a FANTASTIC stay. The location, the lovely gardens, the amazing room. The continental breakfast was very good. Don't think we could have had a better stay. Tried the nearby pub to eat the first night, then the Hall the next. The food so much better in the hall. Also has a Small tucked away bar with very good prices.Have stayed all over the uk, but loved it here. Slept So well. So calm and peaceful, a special place. A big shout out for the staff all So lovely. 10 out of 10."
New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel
"Just about perfect! Fantastic room with wonderful views. All staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend the hotel to everyone."
Three Shires Inn
Brathay Lodge
"We had a fantastic two nights stay at Brathay lodge. The family room was spacious, clean and well appointed with tv, tea and coffee facilities and a large modern bathroom. It was great to have a fan in the room given the hot temperatures! Our room had a balcony to sit on which was lovely. We opted to include the continental breakfast in our booking which was plentiful and great start to the day. All the staff were very helpful. The b and b was quiet and peaceful whilst being ideally located for Ambleside, opposite the tennis courts, mini golf and very short walk from there to all the Ambleside has to offer. With its own car park and EV charging making it very convenient. We strolled down to the lake at Waterhead in just under 20mins. We had a great stay at Brathay lodge and would highly recommend it."
Red Lion Inn
"Visited for evening meal in Sept. Staff were lovely and welcoming and we were given a choice of tables in the lower dining room. Our main meals (Mac&Cheese pie, Steak &Ale pie) were brilliant! Tasty, with beautiful tender meat and great accompaniments. Pudding (lemon posset & apple crumble) were to die for, especially the posset which was served with a spiced blackcurrant coulis. Highly recommend this great pub with food that is definitely a cut above"
The Cuckoo Brow Inn
"Location was lovely but dissapointed with the interior. We did end up booking after other family members and believe ended up with the smallest, compact room with the smallest double bed (Room 5), bathroom was very small as well with just a shower, you had to shut the door to actually use the sink. No outlook at all (other than a rear wall) It was actually a lovely sunny day outside but we had to put the lights on as the room was very dismal even with the curtains open. My relatives had different rooms and were both far superior with big bedrooms, big beds and large bathrooms and we actually paid more than them (Double standard room) . The stairs and landing look well worn and need upgrading as with the paintwork. We did ask if we could change rooms and told no. Evening meal was nice but drinks expensive . Breakfast was ok, shame not free range eggs. Would we return again? No..... until further refurbishment and secure a better room at the front of the property."
Ambleside Fell rooms
"Great room with good facilities and very comfortable beds. Staff at check in very helpful and room kept clean during stay. Breakfast Bag was very tasty and surpassed our expectations. Great location for shops and restaurants and local walks."
Wateredge Inn- the Inn Collection Group
"Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good"
Great Langdale Bunkhouse Hostel
"Everything you need after a day in the hills. Great location, warm, clean and cheap."
Barakat Lakes Escape, Ambleside - Ridgestone
The Britannia Inn
"We had a lovely meal and the local draught beers are excellent and obviously well maintained. The staff are also excellent at helping to find a table for the walk-ins. One word of warning though - the wine is horrendously expensive. A 250ml glass is £9.50 - this is for the cheapest wine, and bottles of wine start at £28.50. We come from London, so we’re used to high prices but this is absolutely absurd. We intended to return later in the week with family who were joining us in our lodge - because the food is so good! - but those sort of wine prices spoil it. A shame."
