Lovely stay, the staff were so friendly and really engaged with customers and their dogs. Breakfasts were fabulous

Weekend break with family, hotel was in a great spot overlooking the lake, parking was a bit difficult. The superior room we stayed in was very comfortable, huge bed with a great view. Food could have been better but would not put us off a return visit.

We stayed here as a last minute choice due to limited availability in central Ambleside over the bank holiday. Whilst initially apprehensive, it didn't take long to feel settled in and both the bedroom accommodation and bar area facilities were far greater than expected. We booked two twin rooms next to each other as a family of 4 at a very reasonable rate, booked direct with the inn itself. We have stayed at far worse for twice the price so this represented fantastic value. The atmosphere and decor of the bar area is lovely and the staff are wonderfully attentive and polite. We ate both breakfast and evening meal at the Inn and everything was fresh and certainly didn't appear mass produced or "warmed up". It's pretty difficult to fault anything with the experience and the cleanliness of the entire site as a whole is pristine. The only one minuscule suggestion is perhaps better standard coffee in the rooms; as the world moved on from freeze ground coffee sachets perhaps. We certainly will come again and its experiences like this which make you realise how much the consumer is being ripped off in other establishments.

Hotel is in a great location, you can sit having a drink/food overlooking Lake Windermere. Rooms are modern and recently updated. All the bar/hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. We would happy stay here again when visiting the Lake District

We had a very nice stay at the Waterhead Inn. The rooms were first class, the food (breakfast) really good and the hotel overall is very relaxed and cosy to stay in. I must mention the staff - they work so hard and go above and beyond to help you (even when you almost set the toaster on fire!) We can't thank them enough and would most definitely stay here again without a doubt.

Great find. Easy to book online. Quick responses. Very friendly staff. Great sleep, very comfortable bed. .Lovely big bath to luxurious in, loved the central taps. Great shower head with good water pressure.. Spacious double room. Breakfast very good, fresh fruit salad excellent . Great choice of teas. Lovely view of the lake

Not good at all the place as gone down hill. Room too hot heating in bathroom left on said could not turn off could not change room.. poor after care from Chloe head office took the Micky out of us keep away just not good choose another place this one isn’t good

What a lovely place to stay for a few days - we really enjoyed the hotel and everything was a described. Would stay again
