Lucy and Matt were so friendly and helpful. Beautiful clean rooms. The best stocked coffee/tea selection we have ever had. Bed was so comfortable. Loved having a choice of sofa or table and chairs to sit at. Breakfast was beautifully cooked, the best poached eggs we have ever had. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Joy & Andy

We have been before, and were not disappointed this time around. Elder Grove is immaculately presented, comfortable and well placed. The staff are great, the breakfast spot-on and there is ample parking. The views from our room were very nice, it was a pleasure to sit on the window seat looking out and reading.

Such a great place, comfortable king size bed, clean and bright bath room, every you need for a lovely stay. Breakfast delicious, best poached eggs ever. Hosts are lovely, knowledgeable about the area. With a service smile. Will definitely return.

I stayed five nights in a single room. Room was very comfortable and I appreciated the bathtub. Great breakfast cooked to order and a lovely Victorian lounge to sit in while enjoying a drink from the honesty bar. Great location close to the bus terminal and grocery store.

This was a return visit for me and my wife to Elder Grove, as we stayed there in 2023 and enjoyed it so much that we booked our 2024 visit while checking out. We have already booked again for 2025! The room we have had on both our stays was spotlessly clean, very well-equipped and extremely comfortable. Lucy and Matt are very friendly and welcoming and there is a good choice at breakfast (I highly recommend the full Cumbrian Breakfast!!!). The B&B is well situated, with its own car park for guests, and just a short walk into the centre of Ambleside. We are already looking forward to our next visit and have no hesitation in recommending Elder Grove to anyone looking for a B&B in Ambleside.

We spent one night at Elder Grove and were very impressed. Everything was quality, the welcome, the room, the bedding, and the breakfast. The B&B also has the added benefit of onsite parking. We would not hesitate to return the next time we're in Amblside.

Fabulous B & B in excellent location, great parking, immaculate rooms with beautiful scented accessories for washing & showing, amazing breakfast with great local produce & great selection, stayed here for a number of years and we love it the hosts Matthew & Lucy are very friendly and accommodating. We will be back later in the year

Our first stay and we will certainly return. The double room was spacious very clean and comfortable with a lovely powerful shower. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had with top quality produce in a beautiful room. The owners were very friendly and helpful and having its own parking is a huge bonus too. 10 out of 10.

We were really early so asked if we could drop our bags whilst we go explore, we were given the instructions for our stay and the keys so we could return at check in (3pm) and go straight to our room. Our bags were taken to our room for us. The breakfast was sooo yummy and plentiful, the bed was so comfortable, the room was perfect with a nice view of a peak. We had such a lovely stay AND bonus, you get discount from local places to eat and drink so I'd highly recommend to make use of that!
