On a steep hill in the middle of a residential district, apart from a small minimart in a basement round the corner, there's nothing nearby except an A** at the bottom of the hill. Surrounding narrow pavements are in disrepair and obstructed by trees and overgrown hedges, so there's nowhere to go for a morning run without using the middle of the road (not recommended). The hotel pool and gym where closed October to March inclusive, effectively making it no better than a 3-star, so I couldn't exercise. We stayed here at the beginning and end of the G-Adventures tour. At the beginning, we were assigned a room with a single small window looking inwards over the lobby lounge atrium. This made the room dark and dingey, being largely devoid of natural light. At the end of the tour we had a room with and outward outlook and this made it much more agreeable. Breakfast provided a wide range of choice but some items ran out quickly and were slow to be replenished. The breakfast room is not well laid out - for example, bread at one end and jam at the other end and breakfast bowls stacked in a corner beside the coffee urn, so that access to the bowls is blocked by the permanent queue for the urns.
