We hadden 1 overnachting geboekt in dit prachtig ‘authentiek treinstation’ in het oude centrum van Amstelveen alwaar we ‘n avondje naar de Schouwburg zijn geweest voor ‘n live Wieler podcast. We kwamen die regenachtige dag uren te vroeg binnen vallen maar werden gelijk hartelijk en warm ontvangen door vriendelijke gastheer Johan, die ons lekkere koffie aanbood en konden gelijk inchecken omdat de kamer toevallig al was schoongemaakt. We waren beiden gelijk gecharmeerd en zwaar onder de indruk van deze rustieke en prachtige gezellige locatie met ‘n zeer hartelijke lieve gastheer & gastvrouw. Die dit karakteristieke ‘monsterlijk mooie’ B & B met hart en ziel hebben omgetoverd tot een magische plek. Onze kamer ensuite op de 1e, was licht, erg ruim, mooi ingericht, met oog voor detail, superschoon met ‘n topbed. De de eet/zitkamer beneden is ook erg knus en huiselijk, warm ingericht, gedecoreerd met passend meubilair, rijkelijk gevuld met planten en boeken, met ook hier weer oog voor detail! Hier werd ook het heerlijke verse ontbijt geserveerd. Tevens erg verrast over de leuke jeugdboeken die gastheer Johan (als zijnde auteur) heeft geschreven en zijn inspiratie voor zijn boeken vooral uit dit historisch treinstation heeft gehaald. We hebben dan ook gelijk ‘n exemplaar door hem laten signeren en uitgelezen! We kijken dan ook alweer uit naar ‘n volgend bezoek aan dit prachtig ‘monsterlijk’ magisch adres en naar boekdeel 2:-) Ons hartelijke dank Johan & Katarina! Met monsterlijke groet: Dennis & Joan

I wanted something close to Schiphol, but away from the chaos. Amstelveen is ten minutes by taxi and a lovely, warm, cozy community. The Hotel Station Amstelveen is an absolutely splendid boutique hotel. The proprietors are warm and super friendly, and their rooms are as welcoming and lovely. Fantastic price for what you get. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Een gezellige plaats om even iets te nuttigen, ligt pal naast oude centrum van Amstelveen. Hebben hier lekkere verse appeltaart. vriendelijk en gastvrij personeel. Mooi uitzicht op het oude treinspoor, wat erlangs loopt.

We felt so lucky to have found this sweet historical B&B. The rooms were cozy, beautifully decorated and uber clean. Our host Johan met us when we arrived and spent time showing us on a map what we would find in the area (such a walkable nature reserve and excellent restaurants) and as well as how to get into Amsterdam. After a 7-day Rhine River Cruise we were wanting to explore Amsterdam but not stay right in the city. Station Amstelveen was ideal because it was an easy train or Uber/taxi ride into the city. The B&B is right on the edge of the Amsterdam forest (which is three times the size of Central Park) and you can even bike from the B&B all the way to Amsterdam. Johan and his wife Katarina have put so much love and effort into making every aspect of their B&B perfect for their guests. You can see that in the charm of the rooms which include comfy high-quality bedding and living greenery, and in the delicious breakfast they provide. The just-out-of-the-oven croissants were incredible. Thank you Johan and Katarina for such a memorable stay on our trip.

Had a wonderful overnight stay at this unique hotel which has lots of character. We were welcomed by Hugo who answered all our questions and supplied us with a great breakfast. The room was comfortable, roomy with peaked ceiling and we had everything we needed. Beautiful location within walking distance of a number of restaurants. We visited the local pizzeria for a great meal. Once again, thank you Hugo for a great stay.
