"I stayed at ibis Budget Amsterdam City South for one night during my visit to Amsterdam, and overall it was a good choice for anyone looking to keep accommodation costs down in what can be a very expensive city.
The main reason I chose this hotel was the price. Compared with many hotels in central Amsterdam, it offered much better value, making it an attractive option for a short stay. While it is located a little way outside the city centre, I found this wasn't really a problem thanks to the excellent transport connections.
The hotel is situated right next to Kronenburg tram stop, making it very easy to travel into central Amsterdam. Public transport was straightforward and reliable, so despite not staying in the heart of the city, getting around was simple and stress-free.
My room was basic, which is exactly what you would expect from an ibis Budget property. It wasn't luxurious, but it was clean, comfortable, and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. Since I was mainly out exploring the city, I didn't need anything more elaborate.
I would recommend ibis Budget Amsterdam City South to travellers who prioritise value over location. If you're happy to stay slightly outside the centre and use public transport, you can save a considerable amount of money while still enjoying easy access to everything Amsterdam has to offer. For a one-night stay, it provided exactly what I needed at a reasonable price."
"The location was a bit further than I expected. It took me about 10 minutes of walking from the nearest tram station, but my luggage were not too heavy so it's not a big problem to me. The price was also affordable and reasonable among most of the hotels I found in Amsterdam. Although it is a little far from central Amsterdam, it's not too complicated to go there using public transport, as you only need to get on one tram and one metro. The room was quite small, but the bed was super large for 2 people, and everything was so clean. I also received good service there even though it was a bit late (11.30pm)."
"The room is very large, we set a twin standard room, temporary extra bed is no problem. The front desk service is very good and the breakfast is rich. Going out and turning right on the main road has a bus to the airport, which is very convenient. You can see the local scenery along the way."
"The room was very nice, clean. There was a very nice girl at the reception. But there were problems with the cleaners. On the first day at lunchtime, a cleaner burst into my room, although I was still asleep. It was very scary. On the second day, the same cleaner tried to enter the room again saying check-out, although there was still an hour before check-out. He was very angry and dissatisfied. He was a very unpleasant young man who spoiled the whole impression of the hotel."
"For this price, getting a room like this was an unexpected and delightful surprise! The room was incredibly spacious and fully equipped, complete with a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, and a full set of cooking utensils and dinnerware. The bathroom and toilet were separate, and the bathroom itself was the largest I've ever seen! Besides being a bit out of the way, everything else was absolutely perfect!"
"Although the hotel is about 40 minutes from the city center, it’s still very convenient thanks to the tram stop right outside and a nearby train station, making it easy to explore other areas as well.
The room was spacious and well-equipped with everything I needed, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel even offers a free sauna – a really nice bonus! The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, I was very satisfied and felt this hotel offered great value for money."
"This hotel is not in a toursit area. You have to have a car to drive to the city, about 15 mins. There are dishes in the kitchen but they weren't washed well. Two dishes were stuck together.
The hotel charged for tourist tax which is absolutely fine but the receptionist charged my hotel room again at the checkout while I had already prepaid on trip.com so they had to give refunds to me..."
"A great aparthotel type of accommodation. The beds were comfotable and the bathroom was beautiful huge. The minikitchen has everything you need. The staff went above and beyond for every request and question we had. They were All stars! It is a bit outside the city center but it's close enough with public transportation. It's also close enough to shops and restaurants. The Lucia restaurant in the lobby is delicious so you don't even have to eat outside. Breakfast was a standout and reasonablely priced for the spread we got."
