Most unsafe/dirtiest hotel i’ve ever stayed at. Booked this hotel to stay with my boyfriend for the week and it almost ruined our trip. To begin with it had the narrowest stairway to our room, moving on the bed sheets had multiple kinds of stains and hairs all over the beds, and stains in the toilet and when leaving to complain we also found that the door was openable without any keycard! After complaining and switching rooms multiple times without any kind of apology or sympathy from a woman working at reception we decided to stay one night as it was very late by this point, couldn’t sleep one minute because of how uncomfortable and scared I was, we slept with jumpers over our heads and socks on still because we did not trust the cleanliness of the beds had to book a new hotel first thing in the morning with no refund!

The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Appalling hygiene. The room and the bedsheets were very dirty and not suitable to be slept in. We were given towels with brown and orange stains on them from god only knows what. The room was far too small. The bed was awfully uncomfortable and had no support. Not good for bad backs. The shower was so small it was unusable for us. There was no wardrobe and no where to put suitcases to keep them out of the way. We couldn't sleep due to the noise outside and our window had a horrible draft coming in all night. We checked out after only one night here as we couldn't bear to stay any longer. Basic hygiene and cleanliness should be a bare minimum in any accommodation, let alone a hotel. There was rats in the alley outside also. I would recommend to avoid the place at all costs. We were refused a refund after all of this and left to a much nicer hotel nearby who thankfully saved our holiday to Amsterdam.

Prima. Di pagare andate a cintollare le camere..

This hotel was fairly disappointing, it was really dirty, on arrival I was desperate to use the toilet to find hairs and urine on the seat, our sheets were made but dirty, with stains and looked as if it had been dragged across a dirty floor, we asked at the desk for the sheets to be changed but she gave us the sheets and left us to change them and the said the cleaners rush the cleaning, I felt I couldn’t take my shoes off the whole time I was walking in my room, made me feel very uncomfortable, beds mattress were very uneven to sleep on they were so soft and tipped you if you moved. Breakfast wasn’t great, plates unclean and kitchen area didn’t look to clean either as you can see where they could, so I decided to just eat a boiled egg as it was still in the shell, for the price your defiantly paying Amsterdam prices, the rooms are understandably small but it’s Amsterdam buildings but the least you expect is a clean room with a half decent bed to sleep on this hotel doesn’t even provide that, I will definitely stay at the hotel I stayed in last time and won’t be returning to this hotel.

My partner and I arrived late after travelling, and at check-in, saw no immediate/apparent issues with the hotel. However, in the early hours of the morning, we were woken up by a strong smell coming from the bathroom. We were concerned a pipe had burst, as it smelled like sewage. Upon checking the bathroom the water in the toilet was dark yellow, like something had backed up in the pipes. We opened the windows to try and air the smell out, but it didn’t dissipate. In the morning, we also found that one of the plug sockets was broken and it looked very dangerous to use. We also found a stain on the curtains that looked like dried blood. The bedding had a hole in it that looked like a cigarette burn. When we went down for breakfast, the crockery and cutlery were dirty (the mugs had coffee/tea stains, and the knives and forks were sticky.) Overall, the hotel was incredibly unsanitary. The issue with the bathroom was of particular concern, and we were worried about the health implications of staying there any longer. We decided to seek out alternative accommodation nearby and check out of The Royal Plaza earlier than planned. Upon checking out, we tried to raise these issues with the member of staff at the reception desk, and received little acknowledgement. We asked if there was a way to log a complaint about our room, and were told “you can try, but it’s non-refundable.” There was no concern expressed, and no apology offered.

We stayed for one night in the Royal Plaza as a prelude to getting the direct Eurostar train to London the following day. We paid about £90 for a double room. Negatives. The room was so small that it was difficult to move around in it. There were no cupboards and no kettle. There was no desk or equivalent work station. The bathroom floor flooded when anyone took a shower and needed at least an hour to drain and dry out. Aircon did not appear to be working. Positives. It is very centrally located - a short walk from Centraal station and the Eurostar terminal. Location is also with an easy walk of many visitor attractions . A buffet breakfast was served in the ground floor dining room and was OK. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We arrived at 12:00pm and were admitted to our room immediately although official check in time was 2:00pm. The room seemed clean to me. There are restaurants and shops all around it. The hotel is good value for its city centre location. Would we stay here again?. It's OK as a place to crash for one night but that is the only basis on which we would stay again.
