Hotel the Exchange

Had a great time at the hotel. Our room was on the 5th floor and a it had a balcony attached, we enjoyed lattes sitting there in the early morning. The cafe next door is perfect for some quick coffee. The washroom was great as well (very big for european standards). Front desk was very kind and helpful in answering questions. If you have a hard time with the stairs in Amsterdam, you'll be thankful the hotel has a small lift 😅. Be mindful room space is tight, but worth it if you prefer having a larger washroom.

I booked a twin room. When we arrived they said the room was not ready but that it was currently being cleaned and would be ready in a few hours. We stored our luggage and went for lunch and to explore some of the city. We came back 3 hours later and they said they room was still not ready. They offered to put us in a king size bed room. We had been traveling from the US and we’re exhausted so reluctantly agreed. This room was closet! It looks nothing like any of the pictures online. The foot and head of the bed both touched the walls. There was a cooling unit that worked the first night and not again after that. The coffee shop downstairs that you see in the pictures isn’t operational . Its being used as storage with pallets, boxes, and supplies stacked everywhere. Its glass separating it from the hotel so you can imagine the eye sore. Its on a busy not so clean street. After exploring AMS i am confident you can find a much better experience in another part of the city for the same amount.

Great location Hotel -Very "weird" entrance to Hotel - Room was small and bed was wall to wall - so had to "climb" over the other person to get in / out - but the bed was soooo comfy and clean. All good

I’m not sure how this hotel is reviewed so good. To me it average at best. Nothing really wrong, but not great. The bed was comfortable, and that was about the only positive thing about the hotel. Besides that, it was one step up from a hostel in my opinion. But it worked for the night. Luckily I used my rewards cash on it, but besides the location, this hotel is definitely not worth the price

We paid over 150 euros. The room was small, the bed too small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was very small. The decoration was horrible. Through the window, the view is of a macabre wall. The cleaning of the room is mediocre. This hotel is a rip-off whatever room level you choose.
