Great service in this beautiful canal facing hotel. It’s a very old building so be prepared for the steep staircase! The service was good with free coffee and tea in the reception area along with maps. Staff are friendly

The hotel is in a fantastic location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However we felt a bit let down by the photos of the room on the website and reality of a dark, dingy room that looked into air cooling units. There was a tiny but awkward step from the landing to our bedroom, which my partner tripped up over, cutting his arms, so quite bad. I reported it as a trip hazard so hope some action had been taken to remedy it, as it won’t have been the first time someone has fallen from it.

Perfect location for our needs - which was to be near the station and overlooking the canals. I've been lucky enough to visit Amsterdam many times, mainly staying with friends so I understand the city. I reckon the GCB hotel hit the spot. Clean fresh functional. big windows overlooking Singel, the innermost canal. If you are sensitive. it may be perhaps a little too close to red light windows but you can always close your eyes and there was no noise noticeable from any rowdies outside.

Stayed in Amsterdam many times and this has to be my new favourite. Room 23 is quiet, spacious and comfy.

It seems like an old manor house that's been converted to hotel rooms. Staff are friendly, free coffee in lobby is nice touch. Has steep stairs to consider. Rooms are small yet have everything you need, comfy bed, good shower. Plus is the central location, very close to attractions and food.

Hotel perfectly located, centre of Amsterdam without being right on the main busy drag.
Quirky hotel with lots of original features and well appointed bedroom and bathroom. Room 3 was a little noisy as most guests had to pass by our door on the way in/out the noise they make is of no fault of the hotel staff.
