Great hotel. Very well placed in Amsterdam opposite the coffeeshop. A few steps from the flower market and a few minutes from the red light district.

The location is very good. And compared to expensive hotels in Amsterdam, the price is reasonable, clean and quiet.
The lobby on the first floor is also in good shape. Considering the price and location, the monkey hotel is a very good hotel.

I was travelling solo, the hotel suited me perfectly, I think it would be good for a couple or couples as well. Then hotel has a sexual vibe to it, artwork on the walls and the colours etc. Location is great, very close to everything and overlooks the canal. The staff were lovely, can’t compliment them enough. I was late to breakfast and was still accommodated, they were always helpful even though I can’t speak Dutch. Room was clean and modern, everything was included like breakfast, coffee downstairs and minibar. I’m would like to return some time to experience again. Recommend! 👍

Amazing hotel , amazing staff, small 2 issues we had were the mattress topper which was sliding down the bed constantly and it wasn’t easy to put back up and the fact neither the room or bathroom had a door , only a curtain , slightly uncomfortable if u don’t know your partner for over 10 years lol

It stank of grass and musty. The shower overflowed. It was freezing cold in the room even though the air conditioning was set to 30 degrees. The balcony was a joke! There was so little light in the bathroom that you could hardly see each other. There was no wine/champagne as advertised. The room looked very dirty. The stairs were a complete disaster. The staff were more concerned with themselves. The breakfast was a complete disaster. The rolls were far too hard, probably from the day before. No sugar and no salt. For that price, you could buy a better delicious sandwich at the Italian restaurant next door. Far too expensive for what they offer.
