Warm greeting from the staff when checking in, he showed us how to use the facilities e.g. washing machine and dryer in the room. Complimentary coffee, tea, cookies and chocolates in the lobby. Also shared laundry facilities in the basement (even we have 1 in the room). Super nice about these. There’re also 2 bikes available for rental. The room itself is big and clean with 1 large bed and 1 large sofa bed, suitable for travelling with 4 people. With in-room coffee machine also. And a nice view from the window. Just 1 thing can improve is the living room can be brighter with installing more lights. We had a very pleasant stay for 4 days.

The accommodation was clean but minimalist. It had all the amenities listed in the accommodation such as washing machine, dish washer, cup, plates etc but I found it a little dark in the rooms, plug sockets hard to come by and only 1 mirror in the hall way (which had no plug sockets) It was also a bit of a pain having the hairdryer hardwired into the bathroom meaning that if someone was showering you couldn’t dry your hair. Likewise if someone was showering you couldn’t wash you hands after going to the toilet as the sink was in the shower room and not in with the toilet room. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms basic but reasonably clean, carpets a little worn and a couple of marks on the wall. It was enough for what we needed as a group but i probably wouldn’t return, I’d like something a little closer to the centre and a little more homely. All the concierges were incredibly helpful, friendly and knowable about the area with nothing too much trouble. I don’t want to put anyone off visiting these apartments, as they did the job but they just weren’t for me.

We loved staying at Salthouse Canal. The apartment was unique and met all our needs. It was a quick walk to train and tram and accessible. Staff were helpful and accomodating. Have already recommended it to a friend visiting this summer.

I went to Amsterdam me and 3 mates. This was a great holiday I would definitely recommend staying here however if you want to save some money may be better off staying more central as we spent most of our walking 15-30 mins to the centre and further for other activities. Also, there was only 2 double beds and a double sofa bed it was a bit of a squeeze for 4 of us however it was adequate I would just suggest getting a bigger hotel if there are 4 of you. Overall good stay but location was a bit of an issue and amount of space in room.

Staff was always friendly

I stayed at the YAYS Amsterdam Salthouse Canal for three nights during a business trip and had an underwhelming stay. The room needed a good clean - there were crumbs on the couch, brown spots in the shower, and weird residue on the walls and door in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, but the bedroom itself was quite noisy. Every hour on the hour, there was a weird noise, like claws walking across metal. Pigeons perhaps? I had a horrible night sleep questioning what the repeated sound could be. The bathroom was rudimentary with cheap, thin towels. The WiFi was not strong enough to hold a simple WhatsApp or FaceTime video call, although I was able to work on my laptop. On the bright side, the hotel is in a charming, local neighborhood. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re planning to visit tourist sites, but I enjoyed walking around the canals and seeing the house boats. Also, the staff were friendly. But this hotel is definitely in the “no return” category for me.
