It has potential but unfortunately it is very understaffed and that impacts the service. The hotel is also under renovation which is open to the breakfast area, so not particularly relaxing. On our first morning the maintenance worker cooked our breakfast which was very good and we thought quite funny! On the second morning there was only one poor girl attempting to manage the entire breakfast room, including serving, cooking and clearing the tables, for a full hotel all by herself! Although our breakfast was included for we left and went to a neighboring cafe. The hotel lacks a professional touch and doesn't feel very well run. Also security was lax as you entered into a front door and could go straight up to the floor rooms that weren't locked. Hopefully when the renovations are completed and with the addition of more staff it can live up to its potential. Location is great.

The rooms are nicely decorated and the hotel is well located.,Granted, it could have been perfect. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and it seems that the entire house is set up with style and considered with some intelligent tech. features in the rooms. Currently, the house is quite easy to find as two huge construction containers have been deposited right in front of it. Not coincidentally, because renovation work is indeed underway at Maison Elle Amsterdam. The workers start early in the morning and march through the breakfast room as it would have been the most natural thing in the world. Drilling, hammering, and screwing occur unabashedly, as if on a construction site. These works take place just a few meters from the guests who have their breakfast between 8 and 11. The workers behave unashamedly. They talk loudly, whistle, or argue. I'm not sure if this would happen at Maison Elle Paris. Suspending the works until at least after breakfast time was apparently not an option. A simple Paravent or at least a curtain so that guests don't visually notice the works would have been too much either. The absolute minimum would have been a small, discreet sign apologizing for the circumstances. All this has very little to do with le très chic... French art de vivre. Moving on to the next point. The television, which is included in the offer. Unfortunately, it is not connected to any cable or provider. For those who don't bring their own streaming subscription on their phone, it will remain a black screen. Boutique hotel lifestyle ... or simply cost-saving? Some of the staff members seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, totally clumsy and not organized. This house deserves a better management. Now, the question is, will I find something better for a hefty 300 euros per night (breakfast with drilling workers included)? Think so. I will definitely do my best.

Overall, a very cute boutique hotel, in a GREAT location, with pleasant staff. However, during our 4 night stay, 2 separate issues arose, that, for the most part were of staff's control. 1 was a faulty AC unit on our arrival. Our room was top floor and trapped a lot of heat. Notified the front desk and it was brushed off as a sustainability matter and insisted we just had to let it work. No follow up. In the evening when it was nearly bedtime, staff acknowledged there was an issue but by that point it was too late for a repair. We slept with windows open which let in a few wasps, street noise. Our third night, the toilet would not stop running. The whole night. It was too late in the evening for anything to be done about it, so we just had to deal. The next morning, there was no follow up from staff. It just stopped running.

Everything is perfect about this hotel, a really great place, lovingly designed, very friendly and helpful staff, first-class breakfast, good location next to Vondelpark, everything clean. The rooms are not very big, but that's because it's a typical Amsterdam townhouse. I'll be back!

A very basic but also very cool boutique hotel in a super location. Guest service personnel were particularly helpful and gracious.

This tucked away hotel in a great location was our refuge for our last night in Amsterdam. The hotel is close to the large park, museums and pretty good shopping and eating. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. Yes I would stay here in the future if a room was available. I gave 4 of 5 stars because their was not a way to reduce the air below 19 and some of the lights did not work properly. We had to open the door to the courtyard to cool us down. All in all a lovely room in a great location in Amsterdam with a helpful responsive staff made for a very nice stay.

Beautiful hotel, small and elegant. Room was clean, nice and spacious. Very nice area with lots of stores and restaurants around. Good location but a little far from tram stations The bed was a little too soft. We were told that the TV channels are not working and that they are trying fix it, never worked during our stay, not a big deal.
