Its central location is its biggest advantage. The staff at the reception are lovely people and incredibly helpful. The rooms are adequately clean. I was satisfied.

Really really great location. The room is quite small and the stairs is really steep.

Very close to Amsterdam Centraal, many restaurants outside the hotel and just infront of the canal. Walking distance to all the tourist spots

Omg i’m so 50 50 about this place. If you are not sure n there’s possibility of u cancelling do not book this hotel. If you’re 100% sure then book here. Do not bring large luggage because the stairs are super tiny n u can easily die.. the room was small but enough for me n the bedding n the shower was clean n good. will i stay here for more than a week? Yes. Will i come back? Yes. But luggage must be small. N the stairs are scary af. Everything is so close from here its so convenient but damn. Looks shady, expensive & the stairs are shyt

The hotel is very centralised...minutes away from the train station and also walkable distance to all major sights. Good place for short stay. Only negative is that the room is small for 3 people and no lift. Difficult if u have big luggage to carry up....but overall it was a pleasant stay

The location was perfect. It is in the heart of the city. Close to the central station, shops, restaurants and bars. It’s spotlessly clean and better than my expectations. I would recommend and will go back again.

Great stay overall: clean and comfortable rooms with good amenities. The hotel is perfectly located right in the city center, making it incredibly easy to get everywhere on foot. It’s just a 3-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station, and if you don’t feel like walking, trams, trains, and buses are all nearby, so everything is very well connected. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back :) the view from the room loved it

I usually leave good reviews, but this place was really terrible. I accidentally booked it for the wrong day and they wouldn't let me cancel. If this hotel were in China, it would definitely go out of business immediately.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Orange Tulip Hotel. I stayed for three nights and only realised afterwards that I had developed multiple insect bites all over my body, including my legs, arms, and torso. These appeared after sleeping in the hotel bed and caused significant discomfort and distress, especially as I was travelling back home internationally. When I contacted the hotel, they initially stated that no issues were reported at checkout, despite the fact that symptoms became more obvious shortly after leaving. While they later agreed in writing to issue a full refund, I am now still chasing the money months later, despite providing my bank details promptly. This experience has been stressful, time-consuming, and deeply concerning. Beyond the physical discomfort, I had to take precautions at home to avoid potentially spreading insects, which no guest should ever have to worry about after a hotel stay. The lack of hygiene, followed by slow and frustrating handling of the refund, shows a serious failure in guest care and accountability. I would strongly advise future guests to think carefully before booking here.

Amazing

Loved our stay at the Orange Tulip! Location is amazing - literally a 7min walk from Centraal Station. Wedged right in between restaurants, souvenir shops, and tourist centres. 10min walk to the Red Light district, 5min walk to Dam Square. Check in was a little weird, you checked in at 1 location but the rooms were in another, but it was explained by the nice guy ant the front desk and super easy to understand where to go. Only downside, we choose a room with no window. The room came with a big fan but it did get stuffy at night. Next time, we’ll pick a room with a window. Stairs to rooms are extremely steep, we were lucky to only be on the 1st floor (up a super steep flight of about 15 stairs) but we could tell the hotel went up at least 2 more floors. Not suitable for someone with accessibility issues. Overall, we will stay here again! Central to everything Amsterdam has to offer, private bathroom, and the price was right!!

If you're looking for a cheap, clean hotel, right by the station then it does the job. However the surrounding area is a dump - stinks of **** and urine, with every variety of dropout hanging around. The stairs are a deathtrap - one of our kids had a fairly decent slip and fall - and are a nightmare for getting larger bags up and down. That said, the staff were all very pleasant and helpful and aside from a little graffiti from previous occupants, our room was in very clean, tidy condition. The only real gripe are the windows that are very old and and let in a lot of noise - either from the road at the front or the ventilation at the back. Think of it as a hostel rather than a hotel and you'll likely be very pleasantly surprised, particularly for the price.

Exceeded my expectations! The owner (I think, haha) mentioned it's a hundred-year-old building, and I was initially worried it might be too old. But the room was super clean, simple yet perfectly adequate. The owner even helped me carry my heavy luggage upstairs and arranged for his colleague to help with the luggage when I checked out, plus free luggage storage. The owner is a European Chinese, very friendly. The location is excellent, not far from the train station and right by a main road, but it wasn't noisy at night. Overall, great value for money. And a shout-out to Trip.com for their responsive service!
