Surprisingly, I had a disappointing experience at Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam Arena Towers. The front desk staff was somewhat dismissive and the breakfast was not up to par with other Express locations. Otherwise, the rooms are of typical small-ish European size and comfortable. Note that unlike other international hotels, they don't provide power adapters in the room nor at the front desk (you can purchase one in the kiosk). The location is conveniently located close to the Arena, which means trains and ample fast food choices. It's not a bad choice even if you have to invest roughly half an hour by train to get to downtown Amsterdam.
