Hotel & Bar Royal Taste Amsterdam

I would start with the positives of this hotel. The rooms are cheap and cheerful. You are paying for what you get. Very basic but clean. You could not get any more central and you are slap bang in the middle of the ******************. The beds are also very comfortable. However what I would say is the stairs in this place are more or less vertical. It is not disabled friendly in any sort of way. The stairs get steeper as you go up. We were in room 6 and it was hard work getting up there. It is pretty loud due to location and doors being extremely thin. No amenities are given. Although there was a clean towel daily and hair dryer. Not much hanging space, or space at all. The bathroom is tiny and the shower has no pressure. You have to hand your key in every time you leave which is ok but I didn’t leave anything valuable in the room at any time. It’s absolutely fine for 1 night 2 max but no more.

Hotel royal taste is actually too cute. I was in room 12 in the attic, the air con and fan is decent and the shared bathroom was a lot nicer than I expected. Staff made it for me, so helpful! The only criticism I had is that they don’t have anywhere to store your luggage after checkout but their is a drop & go not too far away so it wasn’t too bad Would recommend.

€300+ for a room that’s arguably as presentable as a prison cell. Business traveler, booked a single room as a single occupant, did not expect dormitory standard return. Genuinely worst hotel room I’ve entered in any major city in the world. Avoid.

Would recommend to anyone looking for good reasonably priced accommodation in City centre. I had a single room which was spacious, comfortable bed, wardrobe, bedside cabinet with table lamp. Table and chair. Flat screen TV. Fan. Toilet, washbasin and shower. Bar was OK. Good selection of beer, wine and spirits. Great staff. Don't be put off by the fact it's in De Wallen.

Great location and the staff is so helpful. Rooms are clean and nice, safe place to stay. Nice little bar down stairs. Will stay there again. Close to everything, great for walkers, coffee shops close by.

Fantastic little bar with a great a**osphere. This bar is in a fabulous location. Julie the owner is absolutely lovely. The staff can’t do enough for you and they are so welcoming. Can’t wait to go back.

If you want a hotel at the centre of everything in Amsterdam, look no further. The hotel is in the heart of the ******************. It is very clean, no frills but overlooking a canal. All of Amsterdam’s tourist attractions, walkable or reached by cycle - more cycles than people! The hotel run by Martin & Mariah are very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended.
