We had booked a hotel room as part of a package deal thru Easyjet, for our Wedding Anniversay. My wife emailed asking if it were possible to have an upgrade, and we were given the top apartment, and a free taxi t the location. It was splendid.. the location and views were unbeatable, and so much more than just a hotel room. You made our trip with your kindness. Thank you so much. J @ N.

We enjoyed our accommodations at Canal Suites very much. The building and unit are very charming with a lovely view. It should be mentioned that there are 47 narrow steps to reach the unit. We would have loved to have some kitchen towels/ wash cloths/ pot holders and instructions for the oven in English. The staff was very helpful, timely to respond and welcoming. The cleaning schedule of every 3 days was good. The location is excellent. We loved Amsterdam and highly recommend visiting!

Loved our stay here! We had a rooftop apartment with a view of the canal and it was wonderful. The location cannot be beat, 10 min walk to Rembrandt Square, 4 mins to great cafes & restaurants. The bed was insanely comfy (we barely wanted to leave) and the kitchen & bathroom had all the necessities. It was nice to have a separate living area with the comfy chairs and small dining table, made for easy separation of space and didn't make me feel claustrophobic like some small hotel rooms can. We happened upon the room accidentally as there was construction in our original room but it was certainly a happy accident. 10/10 would stay again.

The bad: * When I originally booked this hotel, there was confusion between the cancellation policy the hotel provided me when I booked, versus what was in the ******* policy when I booked. ******* said I had 14 days before check-in to cancel and receive a full refund, and the hotel said I had 48 hours before check-in to cancel and receive a full refund. Because I only received a confirmation email from the hotel and not *******, I believed my cancellation period was the latter. When I tried to cancel the reservation for a full refund, the hotel would not let me do so, despite admitting their error. My stay was for 14 days, so I offered to split the difference with them: I’ll stay for a week and the hotel would refund me for the 2nd week and I’d find lodging elsewhere. They still refused to budge, even though it was their error which lead me to believe I had a more lenient cancellation window than I actually had. I was pretty surprised by their unwillingness to be flexible and compromise given we’d both made errors. * I stayed in the ‘suite’, which was a basement apartment of sorts. They don’t tell you that in the listing though, so when you show up, your door is actually hobbit-hole about 16 inches wide through which you’ll climb down into the room. If you have a bag, don’t plan to carry it with you while you descend, you’ll need to leave it on the steps and pull it in through the window. * Because the suite is at ground level, you’re left with a choice: open the window to get sunlight, but forgo any privacy whatsoever. * When I arrived, the room was extremely hot. Fine, it’s winter, so I figured I could open a window and things would cool off quickly. Turns out, you can’t open the window, it’s fully locked. No fresh air, no fan. I’m glad I stayed here in winter as I can only imagine how hot this place gets during the summer. * A lot of things are just worn-down (see images). Kitchen handles have the finish rubbed off, paint is scuffed, etc. * They say they clean every three days. But, because they don't clean on weekends, it amounts to cleaning once a week. Only, it’s not a cleaning, it’s just new towels and toilet paper, if you need it. Nothing tidied, nothing wiped down, etc. * The towels are old, rough, and thin. * I bought myself ice cream one night, thinking I could leave it in the freezer. Nope, the freezer was completely frozen though with ice, no place to store anything. I’d ask for a refund on my ice cream but I think we all know how that would go. * Upstairs neighbors got into a shouting match most mornings and you could easily hear their voices and their stomping. * The bed: Pillows suck, there’s only a comforter, no sheet. * No conditioner for your hair The good: * The neighborhood and location is excellent, you’re right on a canal. * Easy access to public transportation. * Walkable both to city-center and to De Pijp, a cool neighborhood to the south. * Bed was comfy. * The team responds to inquiries quickly.

Perfect location in the city centre of Amsterdam. Everything in walking distance from the hotel. We had a beautiful room with comfortable beds. Would love to come back again and would definitely recommend!

We chose this suite because of location, size and amenities, more specifically a full kitchen. All of the above criteria were fulfilled and even exceeded. Location is very close to Line 4 tram yet calm because it is at the end of a canal finger near the Amstel. Five minutes walk from a large AH supermarket and several good restaurants including a small quaint fondue restaurant, the Bistrot des Alpes. Very walkable to go to all museums and activities. Suite was clean, well lit due to a large skylight and modern. Loved the view from the suite and the airy feeling provided by the vaulted ceiling. Being at the top floor, 3 flights of stairs are needed so not suited for people with mobility limitations. Bedding and pillows were comfortable and the well equipped bathroom was appreciated. The boiler unit is located in the bedroom and it emitted regularly a low level noise but this was expected being in the winter. Professional a nd pleasant interaction with staff upon check-in. In summary, a very satisfactory stay.

The location was excellent. The size of the room big which suit my need. The bed is so comfortable My flight took 7 hours to arrive to Amsterdam and after this long time, the check in was in different area than the hotel which made me feel so tired. The cleaning service should be daily not every three days. The boiler was so dirty from inside.

Loved the location! So close to Rembrandt square and food shopping, dining etc. the building was great. Beds comfortable but the cleaning was definitely lacking! The floor was very dirty and no way to clean it. No broom or any cleaning supplies were there. Had to buy my own paper towels and dish soap. They did come with new towels and picked up the kitchen but you would think they would clean the floors while there especially when there is a pile of dirt that I swept up with a paper into a pile but they didn’t. I would stay there again but would ask for a thorough cleaning. Also there is No where to put your clothes. Only one small wardrobe with one tiny shelf and 4 hangers on it. It was fine, we just lived out of our suitcase but the dirty dusty floor was definitely kinda gross. Everything else was good.
