Hotels near Astor Classics in Anaheim

I came into town on my own to attend a funeral the second week of January 2022. I used to live in this part of town so I picked this hotel because I knew it was a convenient location with freeway access and places near by for food. I’m also super picky about hotels and this is the only 3.5 star hotel in the area. When I got to the hotel I asked for an early check in because I needed somewhere to work for the early afternoon and was denied. But then when I was trying to find a place to go, the receptionist came and found me and then offered me a room. So I appreciated that. Other positives: free parking and clean room. Negatives: I was on the 5th floor and the walls are pretty thing. I could hear the person next to me talking on the phone. Also on my second night I got no sleep because there were some drugged out people arguing in the hall. Once they went to their room they continued making even more noise. This went on till about 2:30 a.m. This was probably a fluke, but definitely ruined my next day. Overall, good business hotel

Great hotel! Convenient parking (locked with gates), clean, good amenities (iron, fridge, coffee maker with coffee and teas, hairdryer, iron, shared microwave), very good breakfast (cereals, yogurt, fruits, waffles, eggs and sausage patties, bagels and cream cheese). Also, it has onsite restaurant with a 50% dining offer for guests.

We are DVC and bagged a room at the VGC in early August. First thing- the building and lobby and overall vibe are beautiful. The bell person who greeted us was outstanding, Sorry didn’t get his name but he’s 50s, slim guy, and extremely talkative and helpful, the true ‘Disney Difference’ type employee. Check in was a very slow and lengthy experience although the lady was very nice. Queues at 3pm. This could be speeded up. Room wasn’t obtained until just after 4. We had a disappointing outlook room, ground floor, corner, facing directly at back entrance to Californian Adventure. Security guards stood around and no real barrier for privacy so never sat on patio. However, we realised the room had some advantages in that you could be in the park in about 40 steps. Room was nice enough. Would I pay over $1000 a night for it cash? Not worth it but booked on points. They are getting so they need a refurb although still in decent shape. It was all very dark though, perhaps not helped by room position in bottom corner of hotel. Craftsman’s bar was a bit disappointing for food. It was OK quality but very, very slow at coming out. Mine was comped. The bar itself with live music is lovely though and cocktails good. Pool is beautiful but at the same time disappointing. It’s disappointing because there are not enough sun loungers. This is partly due to Disney greed, who have turned over about a third of the already too small pool area to paying cabanas. This is partly due to lack of management. They are meant to have wristbands on people, but half did not have them and half the time there were no staff on the gate to put them on. I personally witnessed at 8am a family coming in the front of the hotel who didn’t seem to be staying there (very easy to get in despite needing a key card as the gate is constantly opened onto the sidewalk) who I saw walk into the pool area, they had no card and waited for gate to open and went in. Disney can see from the reviews on Tripadvisor this pool seating issue is a major problem. They need to do something about it. If that includes removing the cabana area and taking a hit on upcharges, they need to do it. They need to get really strict on pool management and wrist bands. When you are paying this much for a hotel, not being able to get sun beds is totally unacceptable. Shame as pool itself is lovely and live music even in the day. The characters also seemed to plead daily at around 4 pm for a pool party. Gym great. The DVC team here here we’re very nice people. Obviously location is fantastic.

The two personnel who provided services to me was simply easy. My issue was resolved so fast that actually i had no issue. Both individuals should be commended for their superior support and services and should be brought forward to higher responsibility, they displayed extreme professionalism and exuded true traits of being bright, quick thinking and very articulate. These traits are the epitome of an organizations success. 10 rating that comes with care and true concern for their customers. Excellent property and staff! Thanks and see you soon. Room 106 is extremely comfy, I know I was there.

We stayed in the Fantasy tower for 2 nights with 2 adults and 3 older kids. We absolutely loved everything about it. The atmosphere was just magical. Staff always super friendly and helpful. The beds were lovely and comfy and the air con was quiet. Loved that we could put all our luggage under the beds. The sleeper sofa was great because it was an extra bed without taking up precious floor space. I was very surprised how big the room actually was and I felt like they had thought of everything. Loved how close it was to the action and the pools were so beautiful. The gym was well equipped. Only thing I'd say is it probably need another food option or two to cater for all the guests. We didn't want to leave and the next hotel felt pathetic after staying here.

Due to a flood in our house we had to stay for over 1 week while repairs were being done. From the reservation being made to our stay in a wonderful, clean 2 bed patio suite was flawless. The gentleman at the front desk graciously helped to accommodate our stay with great professionalism and politeness. Highly recommend this quiet, clean, modern hotel.Breakfast is included and Carolyn is so pleasant and friendly . I have no complaints and look forward to returning very soon for part 2 of our renovations. Thank you to all the staff, you certainly all show great pride in coming to work. Your efforts are greatly appreciated 👍

Breakfast is very simple during the epidemic, but there are many choices. The staff is very nice and welcoming. The room is large enough, and the sanitary conditions are very good at the Motel level (of course it can't be compared with the high-end hotels, but it is also clean). The biggest problem is sound insulation: I can hear the talking and ”activities” next door, upstairs...other than that I am very satisfied!

This hotel was great for our stay here in California. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable after a long day out whether around Los Angeles or a 17 hour day in Disneyland. The fridge was great bigger than we expected. We managed to store lots of bottled water and a few 2L bottles of juices with all our yoghurts etc for the mornings and during the day. Fridge is a great size for trips to Target which is across the street less than 5 min walk. Bathroom and other parts in the room we couldn’t fault had everything we needed for our stay to make it comfortable. As we left they were re decorating the halls, apart from all of this we wish there was stairs to each floor instead of just getting the lift up as we were in the 3rd floor room 355. Stairs would have been nice inside the blocks as there is only a fire exit stairwell to leave the hotel you cannot get to your room via stairs. Also great for parking a hire car as this hotel doesn’t charge for overnight parking too one of the reasons we chose this as our main location to go back and forth from saving us $350/$400 compared to competitor hotels around LA.

Excellent customer service! Check in was super easy and when I asked where the nearest drug store was because I forgot my toothbrush the really nice lady (shame on me for forgetting her name) went to the back and brought me a new toothbrush and toothpaste without me asking for her help. Sometimes the littlest things can make the biggest difference! And the valet fellas were really nice and helpful. The room was clean and fresh. I actually ended up staying here because of a bad experience I had at one the convention hotels down the street. I left that hotel and found the Hyatt Regency Orange online and I checked in around 9pm. Boy was that a blessing in disguise! I saved around $500!! And the Hyatt was just as nice as the other hotel if not NICER! Thanks Hyatt!
