Howard Johnson by Wyndham Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground

Location was great but they charged too much for nightly parking for their own guests. They have a coffee machine but no stirrers even though we asked so we have to stir with our own toothbrush. We also have to ask for new cups everyday we stayed for 4 nights. No complains about the bed or pillows. Our parcel arrived 2 days ago but no one call us although they said they will. When we called them they said they didn't receive it. An inefficient postal handling I would say which is annoying. Will not stay here again since we have paid higher here with only a lower than medium service level.

I like the proximity of Disneyland to the hotel. I love the retro furnishings of the hotel and all over experience.. I gave four out of five stars because I had to go back downstairs to the front desk and ask for a parking pass that the Front Desk failed to give me at check-in. Other than that the staff and hotels was excellent.

We stayed at the Hojo Anaheim a year ago in March of 2023 and gave them a 5 star rating back then, and raved about them on TripAdvisor. I could never understand why people would write bad reviews about this hotel.....and then I found out why. We came back for another stay in early May 2024, and unfortunately they booked us in building 4....which I don't think has been renovated in decades. The smell is horrible, its damp, and old. The bathroom is terrible. The grout was cracked, I saw 3 earwig bugs in the bathroom, and the shower didn't warm up for 2 minutes. We asked to move to either building one or two, and they accommodated us the next day. Totally different stay after that. Buildings 1 and 2 are newer, and are excellent. Only complaint is that one of the two elevators in Building 1 didn't work, but those things can happen. The kids water playground and the pool are excellent, the staff are great, and they tried their best to help when we asked to move. There is a great little store with drinks, snacks, and gifts right onsite. Also, its very close to Disneyland -- about 10 minute walk, and great restaurants nearby. If you're going to stay at this hotel, make absolutely sure you ask to stay in Building one or two....and if you can't....I wouldn't recommend you stay here. It would have been a 5 star rating likely if we hadn't had to endure that horrific stay in the old building on our first night. Happy Travelling!

I was thoroughly impressed with this place for multiple reasons. The staff were amazing! The gentleman who checked us in was extremely genuinely welcoming and informative. He even gave my son a balloon sword which he loved. At the pool area, we were checked in at the entrance by a staff member who was also very nice and it just seemed so organized the way they assign your table or lounge chair area to you. As a single mom who took this trip with my extremely energetic toddler son, I appreciated the way the staff treated us and how helpful they were throughout our stay. I can say that every single staff member I came in contact with was extremely nice. As someone who also works in the service industry, I notice it everywhere I go and very much appreciated the service here. The pool area was so fun! My son loved it! The rooms were nice. I also loved the convenience of how close this hotel was to Disneyland. We walked right to the park in a few minutes. No struggling to haul a stroller in and out of a shuttle while trying to hold my toddlers hand. As a parent, this place was perfect for me and I don’t think I’ll be staying anywhere else for my Disney trips!
