Excellent location at the heart of downtown. However it’s a bit dated. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby all within walking distance. Will stay again if visit anchorage again.

The most iconic hotel in Anchorage, I had to stay even if I could only afford one night. Everything was good, the room was a bit small. Definitely paying big city prices for little old Alaska, which can feel like price gouging.

Excellent location in downtown Anchorage. We were able to walk to all of our planned activities and dining plans. The hotel felt very clean and also had very good dining options on site. I liked seeing the bay out the window.

Located in downtown Anchorage close to restaurants and bars. In the hotel there is a fine restaurant on the top floor called 'The Crows Nest' where brilliant views are accompanied by fine dining - thoroughly recommended, even if not staying at the hotel For more casual dining or a late drink - there is the less formal setting of the Whales tail. In addition there are wide open spacious lobby areas where one can sit and chill out. We has a junior suite on level 9 which provided fine views of downtown along with the mountains to the east of Anchorage. While all staff we dealt with while dining/drinking/concierge/porters were professional and courteous we found staff at reception cool and brusque especially when I had a small query at check out. Overall, I'd recommend it and we enjoyed our stay.

Overall visit was good with the exception of the confusing way to get to the pool. I'm with my 4 year old daughter and we are told swimming pool is on 1st floor. I take Tower 2 and only see a women's athletics club entrance. Later did I find it the men's is Tower 1. And that is not the only problem, I'm with my daughter and we cannot enter the men's athletic because she's a female. We had to ask a really friend hotel worker who lead us through some side entrances to get in. I suggest making the directions clear on how to enter the pool area especially parents who have kids of mixed gender.

This was our final hotel stay on our Land tour portion of our Alaskan adventure with princess cruiseline. The hotel was nice, lots of shopping, staff was friendly. Room was clean. Great central location. The only thing we did notice was our shampoo/conditioner mini bottles were half empty.
