I had booked (and paid for) a suite and when we checked in they had over sold, which was disappointing, but Tia, manager, was able to get us into the suite after the first night. The customer service and convenience of the shuttle to an and from dinner made up for the rough first night. I would typically choose to stay somewhere a bit upgraded, but we booked for the jetted tub so was relieved it was available the next nights. Overall, just thankful it worked out in the end! Tia and team were accommodating and friendly the remainder of our trip.

The hotel is dated, not well kept, and not clean. The front desk staff is hit or miss with effectiveness and kindness. The room has broken elements, dirty surfaces, mold and water damage. Housekeeping does not clean on a daily basis. It really is all about the lack of feeling comfortabe in the space.

The staff was very helpful and sweet. The breakfast and the woman who provided it every morning was great. The building is a bit run down and the pool that’s advertised is freezing, very freezing.

The hotel was clean and had a real Alaska feel with the trophies in the lobby. It should be noted this hotel is on a train track. Upon check in they did not have the room type available that I paid for and made no concessions for it even though I had paid more for the type of room I reserved. It was too late at night for me to deal with switching hotels.
