What an incredible place with such a rich history! Reception was wonderful. Very helpful with recommendations. We had one of our favorite dinners ever in the restaurant with wonderful service and delicious local food, wine, and whiskey. Great bed, shower, and view of the square with church bells ringing. Loved looking at all the historic pictures and knick knacks. We loved Appenzell, and highly recommend Romantik Hotel Santis!

Das grosse Appenzeller-Haus ist mit viel Liebe gepflegt und man fühlt sich sehr heimelig und willkommen. Die Zimmer sind charmant und die Bäder modern und sehr sauber. Das Personal war immer sehr herzlich und professionell zugleich. Das traditionelle Essen schmeckte ausgezeichnet und die Auswahl an Weinen und lokalen Schnäpsen ist beeindruckend. Wir waren bereits zum zweiten mal da und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

We were part of a tour group and the hotel was just perfect. We had a huge room and bathroom, with a walk in shower which was just so appreciated. Dinner and breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety of options available. The staff were efficient and friendly. Perfect location for the old town (so many little shops and restaurants to explore) and a couple of supermarkets within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Nous avons mangé au restaurant en famille. Très bon accueil et très bon service. La serveuse a compris rapidement que nous étions Romands et a fait l’effort de nous parler en français. Les mets sont excellents. Les prix sont très corrects par rapport à la qualité. Les enfants sont le bienvenus. Je recommande.

The Appenzell area is a gorgeous rural area with phenomenal scenery. The hotel and town are traditional Swiss architecture with a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the rooms comfortable. This was our favorite area in Switzerland 🇨🇭.
