Agoda takes booking for this property thru their platform and sends confirmation emails, shows that the booking is confirmed and ‘Payment for this booking will be collected by the property’, this has been the message on Agoda website online until the morning of the day of check-in, i.e. Oct 20, 2021. On the day of check-in I'm told by the arrogant property point of contact, Vikas, that he had allotted the apartment that i had booked, to someone else since i had not contacted him, saying AGODA does not provide the contact number of the customer, to the property owner; ridiculous isn't it (if this is agoda's policy) OR the property owner is lying thru his teeth (if this is indeed not agoda's policy). go figure out for yourself. I was stranded with family without a place to stay for the night, due to the false commitment by Agoda and the irresponsible behavior of the property owner. I had requested Vikas if he can arrange any alternate as I had already reaching Goa and he flatly refused, saying he had given the apartment to someone, most likely for a higher price. I had to spend half a day of my vacay to find alt place to stay for the night. Agoda, Vikas - Good job in making money from this models; providing a confirmed booking to customer and cancelling the booking to sell at higher cost. I later had stay in this place thru another booking made for one day later at a higher cost, since it was the only available place last min, & trying out due to a reco, (proves comment above)
