Great stay at Buxton Lee Wood, room and furnishings superb, we dined in the hotel restaurant, the food delicious and a good choice of dishes, the staff went out of their way to be helpful, the hotel is just a short walk from Buxton town centre, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel!

The staff were exceptionally friendly, ready to please and responded promptly to any request. Our room was very comfortable, very clean with a well appointed bathroom. The Hotel is only a 10 minute stroll from the historic centre of town. The menu was comprehensive and very tasty.

Only stayed for one night. Staff were great. Property was dated, cobwebs in bedroom on ceiling, furniture old and in need of up dating. Radiator in bathroom clipped quite a bit. Lovely fireplace in lounge area, would have been better if it was on. Would have felt cosy, as the weather outside was awful.

This is a smallish hotel well situated in Buxton. We were a group of 14 people in about 10 rooms. The hotel made sure we had parking for our motorbikes and our own table in the restaurant. The hotel management were very accommodating and, despite the intermittent wet weather, we had a great time. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Clean comfortable room. Staff all very helpful and friendly - dining staff cheerfully rearranged our table at dinner ( we were at the Medics reunion) . Food was good too - not easy to produce 50+ meals in good time, hot and tasty! Lovely weekend despite the weather.

Just stayed for one night whilst going to the Opera House on Wednesday evening. The hotel is fabulous, Room 6 was so comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed a most relaxing stay, a perfect nights sleep. We dined before attending the theatre. The menu choices are excellent and the quality of food was superb. Beautiful cooked lamb and my husband enjoyed the pork chops. Would highly recommend dining here for both for dinner & breakfast. Quality produce for both dining experiences . All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning soon. And do not hesitate in recommending this hotel whilst staying in Buxton, highly recommended.

We had our wedding lunch at The Lee Wood along with a couple of nights stay. The hotel is really lovely, the staff are so helpful and made our special day perfect. Big shout out to the restaurant, all our guests loved their lunch. The staff had gone to the trouble of dressing the table beautifully, little touches that make all the difference.

We booked for one night & had a Superior Double which was OK but a bit tired & could do with some decorating and touch ups. I don't know where these large rooms are with walk in showers that I've read about. We had a bath with a shower over it which worked well but would have preferred a walk in one. Maybe I should have asked for an upgrade as am a BW Diamond member but assumed that would have been fine if one was available? The hotel itself is in a lovely location, very handy for exploring the area. We had trouble parking as there was a big lunch on but managed to find a space later on. The food at dinner was excellent and breakfast was good too with plenty of choice. One thing which let it down was the appearance & attitude of some of the staff. The gentleman at dinner was quite abrupt in manner & the man who appeared from the kitchen with the food was wearing a grubby apron & looked as if he'd just got up! In the morning the young girl serving wore a shirt so crumpled that it looked as if it had been screwed up all night! I know this doesn't affect the food or our experience but I do think there should be a standard of looking smart & clean. The lady on Reception was excellent- efficient, smartly dressed & friendly. Would we come back? Possibly if we had a better room at a decent price.

Booked room with a view but it was dark as shrouded by trees trying to hide residential apartments at the other side. Booked romantic package described as prosecco, chocolates and rose petals on the bed. Got 2 kitkats and a small nlock of aldi white chocolate (almost out of date), prosecco n9t great and some plastic discs which I assume were supposed to be petals. Most definitely unromantic package Paid for an add on dinner package of 2 course with wine, supposedly discounted. Unless you order the most expensive on the menu (which we didn't, it doesn't cover the cost. Wine was non negotiable small glass of house wine
